Where would be a good place to pick up a game?

As in any area in the US....
College courts, mostly PM's, hang around hitting the wall.
Public courts, where there are lots, with availible parking, not in the ghetto, anytime after 10AM unless you are seeking old farts.
Courts near high schools, but only if they're well maintained and show usage, with a wall for you to hit.

I live in Salt Lake.

I'd suggest Libery Park for outdoor courts. They are "fine" and cost $5/hr. to reserve last I knew. Liberty Park is approximately 1.5 miles I'd say from Rice Eccles football stadium. Call 801-328-4711 to reserve your court.

For indoor courts I'd suggest playing on the University at Eccles Tennis Center. I think the public pays $6 guest fee and $18/hr. for courts. It is pretty much right next door to the stadium. Call 801-581-7075 to reserve your court.

There are other places, but if you are going to be near the U, these are the ones I'd suggest.

Pickup tennis doesn't really exist in Salt Lake.

By the way, if anyone is looking for a hitting partner in Salt Lake, I'm a pretty strong 4.0 or perhaps a low 4.5.
