Smile Funny stringer stories!

I know there's a group of us here who are stringers, either frequent (drakulie) or not as much. so over the course of time i am sure you had funny things come up dealing with stringing.

here is a funny one that happened to me recently that we couldnt stop laughing about. guy comes in to get his racket strung and after consulting with him about his game etc etc we said he could try soemthing like black magic. he busts his phone out and goes 'well my friend whos really good told me about this luxilon string that i should try. how is luxilon better than poly?"

Though I think this topic should be under the stringing section, I'll share a story of mine from before I started stringing.
In a town I used to live in, I found a stringer by word of mouth; I had him string one of my sticks at a tension I liked. He strung it and told me that he strung it a few pounds lower than what I asked for. When I asked him why, he said that the string "would get tighter as I played." I looked at him with crazy eyes and gave him half of what he was charging (to pay for the strings). I laughed and told him that I would never have him string my sticks again.

Sometimes my friend just puts a reel of black polies over his head and walks around wrapping his string around the nails he put into the walls.

A couple of years ago, i strung racquets at our local tennisclub. I string a Tecnifibre with a 16/19 stringpattern to a 15 year old girl who plays 4 times every week.

6 months later her mother calls me late one night, really really upset.
- I want a full refund!!
Why?
- The strings have snapped!!
Hm, but i strung it 6 months ago...
- Exactly! Thats really really bad! A string must last many years!
......

Fail!

Without overly generalizing, doing business with women can be an experience. This one girl was surprised when I handed her a freshly strung frame and expected a payment. She thought I just did it as a favour...
