I'm not really a high level player, but I play a lot and I don't break strings often so I'd like to have my normal string. I'm kinda OCD about it

Should've been more clear, since there are 15 different Wilson NXT lol

I said NXT 16, but I guess the lady thought NXT Control 16 would be okay

I could have hit with my poly which was string 10lbs off, but yet I opted not to. I wasted a half set of natural gut with that too. If the string is wrong, it's wrong. You get it redone. You're not wasting anything if you order something and the order is wrong. THEY are the ones who wasted it, because had they not made the mistake, then they wouldn't be out a set of string. If I order a steak and they give me a pork chop, I'll ask for my steak instead of "not wasting" the pork. It's their fault for not taking the order correctly, so if they want my business, they'll make amends.

Amazing that this thread has gone to 40+ posts!
You should get what you ask for...period.
If I ordered Gamma Syngut from TW and got Wearguard, I'd send it back for replacement even though I could probably find a use for it.

again, i am agreeing with you. my point is if it was me, i would say 'you know what, you guys screwed up, but why dont i take it for a spin since its a fresh job and we can work it out later". i try to be nice when its possible. to each his own.

i hate mayo, and i have been to places that forgot and slapped mayo on my burger. instead of sending it back, i tell them but eat it anyways. sometimes things are just not a huge deal. sure $45 or whatever for a stringjob is money, but kids are dying in africa. i try to keep it in perspective thats all

My friend, I am not opposed to your principle. In this case, it's a risk that you'll hate it just in the effort to not waste something. You can't just try it and come back later if you don't like it. Regardless, you're entitled to what you asked and paid for, so unlike mayo, you can't just scrape off the word Control and have regular NXT.

I think I would have asked them if I could try it first before just returning it. Then if I didn't like it I'd return it for a re-do with NXT. But then, the NXT Control was probably tensioned too high anyway.

After reading this soap opera I think it comes down to whether the OP values and wants to maintain a relationship with his/her stringer. Yes, there was an oversight in using the wrong version of NXT -- and there is a substantive difference in different versions of NXT. But it is not the most egregious mistake that could have been made. Going back and insisting the stringer cut out a brand new string job is fair, just and equitable in absolute terms. However, if an ongoing relationship with that stringer is desired, there are better ways to handle the situation. If you do not give a ***** about your relationship with the stringer, I guess the response was fine.

Default Would you have made a huge deal about this?

So, may I ask what she charges for stringing one racquet with NXT Control or your string of choice??

It's included with the string, whatever the string costs is whatever it costs to get it strung.
So if the string is 16.95 then I just gotta buy the string and the stringing is free

Your lack of precision in answering the question is possibly part of your problem -- a lack of communication with the stringer?? If you paid $16.95 including the cost of stringing, that would be a hell of a deal. TW sells the string only for $16.95. If you don't even know what you pay for NXT, strung, you probably didn't give proper instructions or clarity in your request for NXT to be strung in your racquet. I'm not looking for a fight, but just my two cents.

Yeah I admit it was pretty much like bring the racquets in, tell her the string, tell her the tension, walk out. Lack of communication I definitely agree

And you called me quite frankly a jerk for being suspicious? You just stated that you get your racquets strung for free, no labor cost whatsoever. And then, you seriously complained that she gave you a near $20 string for free but yet you wanted a different, cheaper string instead? Is this someone you know as in a friend, or someone at a shop/club? If the former, then yes, you screwed your friend over having just done you a huge favor, and if the latter, there is something extremely fishy. Please, correct me where I'm wrong, or I'm about to chalk this up to typical Babolatbarry half-truth garbage.
