I am loving the set up of Gut mains and Pro Hurricane 18.
But the biggest problem is that Pro Hurricane 18 seems to be a sticky poly and my Gut mains don't slide as well as other polys I have tried. I actually have to readjust my main strings like I would with using a Syn Gut cross. I like the soft pocket feeling of the Hurricane. I have tried Co-focus crosses but they get dull on me fast and cause me wrist pain. I prefer a non textured/shaped cross for better Gut main durability. Racquetsports industry ranks these as the softest non textured/shaped polys: Head FXP Tour 16 Polyester 1.33 165 14.93 Babolat Pro Hurricane 18 Polyester 1.21 187 22.29 Head Sonic Pro 17 Polyester 1.23 199 23.09 Pacific Poly Power 18 Polyester 1.09 201 21.17 Polyfibre Poly Hightec 1.10 Polyester 1.09 206 23.68 Isospeed Pulse 1.20 Polyester 1.23 209 21.78 Any feedback on these or other string ideas? Thanks! |

Don't go by the RSI test results for 'softness', especially as a cross for gut.
Surface smoothness is way different than lack of stiffness. If CoFocus dulls too quickly for you, try the SPPP 17L (1.18 ).
