Default Federer's next goals for weeks at #1

Now that Federer has been #1 for 300 weeks, I think his next goals should be:

306 - this would be 3X as long as Nadal's weeks at #1
378 - this would overtake Steffi Graf for the most weeks at #1 by male or female. Unfortunately, I think this might be out of Roger's reach. (Reaching 333, and passing Navratilova's weeks at #1 would be awesome, considering in early 2011 she stated that Roger would never return to #1.)

If Fed made 306 weeks, the only place it would have any added value would be on TTW where the Church of Federer would let all the ***** know about it. 378 means another year and a half at the top which is frankly not even close to likely, I'm not convinced he will even keep playing for that long.

LOL, I don't even know about that. A friend who casually watches tennis noticed a news headline that Federer secured being number one for 300 weeks and asked me, "how many weeks has Nadal been number one? like 100weeks?" I said, "yes that is correct." He replied, "And how are they even considered rivals?"

300 is another benchmark, just like his 17 grand slam titles.

It's a symbolic thing really, 287 was a big deal!

True, because he broke the record which Sampras held over a decade. But the benchmark doesn't stay at 287, it will be at what number he end up with.

Let's be realistic, he will lose #1 in Paris, so that would be 303 weeks....

He might even lose it at Basel. I believe Murray is playing, so it won't be easy.

They are seeded 1 & 2. Basel is indoors, Murray is toast.

He will win Basel.

I think he will lose it in Paris and maybe he will have a few more weeks (4/5) in the first half of 2013 if he does well at AO/IW/Miami and Djokovic not so good.

He will not reach 310.

Yep, better not to focus on his poor slam H2H with Nadal. Because that record isn't important to Federer fans.

No need. He broke Rafa's body.

If he could get to 350 that would be an awesome number, but he would be halfway to 33 at that time, and that is sadly something I can't foresee. Would be equally fun if Federer retired at #1 with Nadal unable to ever get there again.

Anyway, huge props to Fed for getting to 300!

If it's important for him, he should just try and stay there for as long as he can so it'll be harder for the next great champion to surpass him. 306, 350, 375 they're all just numbers at the end of the day. They don't matter all that much.

As I always say, Nadal won the battle with Federer, but Federer clearly won the war with Nadal and all other competition.

Default 312 has to be

52 weeks a year x 6 years = 312 weeks.

That is the next milestone
