my prince rep recently stopped selling for them, instead he got some volkl balls in stock. anyone here ever used them?
on a sidenote, how many of you guys buy balls in bulk (12 or 24 can cases) as opposed to individual cans at your clubs or at the store? |

Never tried Volkl balls. I'll buy cases if they offer a substantial savings over the individual cans.

volkl balls were fine for me, maybe a little on the bouncy side.

I've been playing the Prince Tour ball for the past two years. The Volkl Challenger balls are a good alternative. Not quite as heavy but still a firm playing ball. May actually last longer.

Volkl balls come painted with their patented markings called Optispot, which when combined with Optispot technology painted on their Organix line of racquets, makes it virtually impossible for the user to mishit the ball even if s/he wanted to.

Sounds like they may be a regular-duty ball rather than extra-duty. Do they really last as long or longer than the die-hard Prince Tour balls as Marco indicates?

There is no indication as to hard or soft court suitability on the packaging. I play mostly indoor but I would describe my club's courts as slower.
Here's the verbiage used to promote them: "All Court. Made with high quality wool felt, an ExtraLast core and careful manufacturing, this high performance ball from Volkl can be used on all court surfaces and is ITF approved. Regular duty wool felt for use on all court surfaces; ideal for soft and indoor courts. ITF approved for tournament and league play." They are made in Thailand, same country of origin for the Prince Tour. (I had been using the regular duty Prince balls) I am down to 4 cans of the Prince Tours. I plan on switching back and forth to make a fair judgement.
