Murray does own Federer in best of 3 matches though and that is what this event is, so in relevance in talking about what is most likely to happen here it makes sense to favor Murray.

Yeah, 'cause he's gonna win a tournament he's not playing

Roger owns Basel, as in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011

Fed should win this now. Although I'd still have picked him over Murray in Basel.

When is the draw out?

If Federer wins this, he'll tie McEnroe at 77 titles, right?

Right. Next title, he can surpass Mac. Then what does he do about Connors? He would have to win 32 more titles.

When Novak won in 2009, I wanted to bop him over the head and tell him to give the trophy back to Roger.

That's a lot.

But he's said he wanted to play till 2016, and you know he does do things like pull a WC in Rotterdam and show up 2 days before to win. It's not like it's 32 Slam titles. So maybe he could do it.

Lol, you seem to be foaming at the mouth at the thought of Federer losing. It's basel for crying out loud

Actually I'd like Delpo to somehow win this. For him that would be big. For everyone else it's "meh" Maybe even Roger who's FROM Basel.I mean he's won it enough now.

Is he even in the draw? I thought he was playing Valencia instead; that's where he was last year.

He's the second seed now that Murray has pulled out.

Where does it say that Murray has pulled out? The Basel website still shows him in the draw and his own website still mentions it as his next tournament.

Delpo no prayer. Rog will win due to recent tournament announcements. All calls will be announced only in the secret Swiss language by a Swiss ref:

official ball kids uniforms have been chosen:

and only Swiss vuvuzelas will be permitted:

I was wrong, Troicki is 8th seed not Chardy. Federer playing Chardy in 1st round, Belluci in the 2nd, Stan in his half again.

Delpo VS Falla, Brian Baker waiting in the 2nd.

He's not in the draw mate - Delpo is 2nd seed.

I think Feds will win his home tournament.

I don't think he'll win the paris masters, but I do think he has as good of chance as any to win the WTF.

I think he finishes the year world #2 and that's fine by me! As long as he can keep that #2 seed into the AO (which seems possible)

Thanks. I couldn't find an announcement about it.

I don't know why Murray bothers entering Basel, only to pull out. This is the second year on the trot he's done this. It's becoming a bit too farcical. I bet the organisers are beginning to think so too.

It's on the German part of the Offiial site. Neil Harman tweeted last night night that he heard Andy was unlikely to play - tight back (I said he'd have a 'back injury' for Paris - happened a week early - don't think he'll play Paris either; I think the plan was always to have a training week in London next week with Mr Lendl).
