If Djokovic wins Paris, he will pass Federer for the most Masters Series tournaments won in 2 years with 9.
Djokovic has passed Federer for the most Masters Series tournament finals in 2 years with 12. Federer reached 11 between 2006 and 2007. Of course, Federer also won the year end championships both years. To summarize, Federer between 2006 and 2007, won 6 Masters Series, and 5 Masters Series finals, and won 2 year end championships. Djokovic from 2011to 2012, has won 8 Master Series and 4 Masters Series finals. He did even make the final in 2011, and has another Masters Series and Year End Championship to be played yet in 2012. Though federer used to skip Paris and/or Madrid early on. i know he played both in 2007 but before that i don't think he did but not sure. of course Novak skipped shanghai last year.

And Nadal just has to win his pet events (Monte Carlo, Rome, and normal Madrid) to become the all-time leader in Masters Series titles once again.

Lol at Normal Madrid, because this year's Madrid was too challenging for unadaptable Nadal to win. Amazing, that a player good enough to win French, Wimbledon, and U.S. Open in same year was too weak to adjust in Madrid.

And Roland Garros, and Barcelona, and Rome. And Wimbledon (in recent years). In fact, every clay-court event Nadal enters has the potential to become his pet event (we may see him make tournaments like Acapulco and Nice his pet events if he plays them next year).

Because it's an accomplishment to make Acapulco and Nice your "pet events." Ok?

Nadal should beat the record by some margin but at the moment federer has the same amount of titles but more finals. so he has the better record not Nadal. and lendl still has one more title than either of them.
