Default Forget: "Paris-Bercy could end up being played in February"

... from 2014 on. Here's the link (in French): http://www.eurosport.fr/tennis/le-to...56/story.shtml

Don't know whether they can pull it off, but this would be a way of saving the tournament (and would create a kind of "mini-indoor swing" between AO and IW-Miami, ie Rotterdam-Marseilles-Bercy). Problems would be of course be that the Masters build-up would then be much weaker, with only Shanghai left as an M1000 after the US Open, and the start of the year would be pretty crowded, with the first six months being even more top-heavy than they are now, with 3 of the 4 slams and 6 of the 9 M1000's, so some more shuffling around may be needed.

Let's see how this turns out.

Depends.

How much longer is the WTF supposed to be in London?

This will be year #4.

London's contract to host WTF ends 2013. No doubt it will be renewed again with the $ucce$$ and feedback from players. Rio is getting a tournament to replace Belgrade, no way will it get the WTF.

I believe, in a few years it inevitable that the tour (for the top 8- ) will end with the WTF in mid-October.

Then after mid-october you'll have Rio, South Africa, Timbuktu Open etc tournaments which will probably add to points leading to the race to the WTF for the following year.

It actually good since it complements the mini indoor season at that time with Rotterdam and Open 13.

not sure they'll get less withdrawals if it's played in february...
after the AO many top players might skip it, and being played at the end of the regular tour made it crucial for the qualification for the WTF.
(but please put again a resting week before the WTF !)

anyway, i like the calendar like this, ending with the indoor season. no need to change that...

I've heard of Guy Forget so many times, but I used to think that was just a makeshift name you gave to people you don't remember, XD

Seems like a good idea to me, because it will give the players, especially those outside of the top 8, more of an off season.
