This will be interesting.
I think Kerber finishes #5 and Errani #7. If Errani had won today she would have bumped Kvitova for #6. Kvitova still gets 210 pts from the YEC.

according to WTA Kvitova gets only 70 points and loses a ton, Kerber gets 210

Kvitova isn't getting any new points, she is losing a bucketload because she was defending champion. I doubt she loses enough for Errani to bump her though.

What about Least Improved/Most Stagnating Player (LIMPS)?

My vote goes to Wozniacki.

Vera's been injured for almost a year. As for Jelena and Sveta, they just lost interest playing.

In the past the WTA awarded players that withdrew during the event 210 pts. I think they still do that.

Last year's YEC points have already been taken off.

Kvitova deserves a mention after she failed to live up to the GOAT/multi slam hype some put on her the start of the season.

I think Kvitova wins the award for Least Improved/Most Stagnating Player. Kvitova went from the clear #1 player of 2011 to the #6 or #7 this year. Wozniacki only went from the distant #2 to #11, the former is an even bigger fall IMO.

She was never ranked number one was she? Her highest ranking was number 2 I thought? It is true that Kvitova stagnated this year compared to 2011 but Wozniacki's fall was greater from number one to number 11!

Yeah but Woz's fall was expected. I think everyone could've seen it coming given her weak slam results even last year. Kvitova had higher expectations for 2012 and fell well short of them.

I think Vika deserves some mention for her improvement though. Even though it wasn't as drastic as those listed in the poll, she still took that big step from being a perennial slam QF/SF loser to being a slam winner and coming close to knocking down Serena at the USO, as well as finishing YE #1.

Yes, Kvitova did not do as well as predicted in 2012 but she was injured or ill a lot this year and also she probably had trouble trying to get used to all of the attention put on her after winning Wimbledon. I think she will get back on track or at least I sure hope so as I am a fan of her game.

Yes, true. I am not a big Azarenka fan but she deserves respect for her consistent year and her ability to fight Serena probably better than any other player in the past few matches they have played. Her fight against Serena at the USO impressed me.

Wozniacki's year end #1 in 2011 was the most farcial in history so it is easy to disregard. Kvitova was the real and far away #1 last year and everyone knows it (and I am no Petra fan btw). I would say her fall was greater as she went from the closest thing the game had to a dominant player (her 2011 was light years greater in achievement than anyone else) to the World #6 this year. Wozniacki went from someone most basically regarded as the World #4 or #5 to the World #11, not as big a deal IMHO.

meh crappy choice I think but congrats to Errani nonetheless. I feel badly for Keber. I can see why Errani won as she had better slam results and more titles, but Kerber fared much better in the Premier events, and came up with more big wins, Errani outside the slams mostly scalped off weak fields in remote places, and even in the slams got some cakewalk draws (yes Keber is part of that, considering Kerber was basically her toughest opponent to a slam semi and 2nd toughest to a slam final, isnt that tough). Errani did beat Kerber twice in slams this year, that was probably also in her favor.
