Your issues are not on topic. Let me get to the point. Do you have real life work experience in climatology versus just education? If you don't want to answer for privacy reasons, then I understand.

i'm doing okay. my parents got the power back in lakewood so that's 2 less people in my tiny apt. met with fema (spelling) guy yesterday with my friend wayne and we went through a ton of stuff in his apt . the whole first floor up to about 7 feet just ruined. the whole apt is labled going to be condemned and we have til wednesday to get everything out then we're gone for good there. hard to get rental trucks and no storage available locally. luckily got a 5-5-8 remotely close for the where-the-hell-can-we-put-this type stuff. currently have 4 extra people living with me and am housing a dog against the wished of my rental co. (f-them) they said no dogs but the new apts at fairways at bay lea can have dogs and mine can have cats that are grandfathered in.. so if they want to try to evict us they can but i'll put up the biggest fight i can. the dog only goes out 2 times a day to use the bathroom. no barking or anything else. today the club i work at reopened so aside from the money being a plus i can see courts again thankfully. things here still awful. seaside has tremendous looting issues and armed guards. people at the shelters i'm at no doubt are going to be getting sick and spreading it amongst the community bedding.

red cross volunteers disorganized still. im only going to infirmary to ask medical personnel what they need specifically (blankets and clothing and water and stuff everyone has donated but the one thing i've been running to get is walgreens pharmacy true test (the diabetic testing strips) repeately. they're like 51 for a 40 count or 40 for a 50 count. i have tons of reciepts for it i'll post. on tue i spent $300 or so at target for baby and dog food and stuff and another 186 or so at the dollar general store getting hats and mittens and stuff . but sad as it is to say there are a lot of people at the shelters that were in welfare that are taking everything they can just to have stuff and trying to hoard it . you see the best and worst of people out here. will try to get video of flood damages so you can see initial days of storms. thanks for the concern

Unhappy

Mother Nature's sad, sadistic practical joke on the humanity of the Northeast...a wind-blown, snowy Noreaster a week after a hurricane! My <3 cries for all in my former home!

Cool

10 days out and still no power for 100,000's, gas rationing in two states and profiteers selling gas for $30/gal on the Internet? WTF, we are a third-world nation!

the Northeast wasn't as prepared for hurricanes like battered FL. think there are state laws prohibiting gouging in FL. during the 2004 season, my hood was without power for a week and others even more. clean up needs to be done before turning on the power so as not to accidentally electrocute.

well more power outages. i drove to my club (about hour away) and taught for 2 hours before they closed the club from the snow storm. took 2 1/2 hours to get home. trees falling and transformers blowing on the way home. most ridiculous weeks of my life . rental property sent us intent to evict mail because we're housing a dog even though they allow dogs in newer apts owned by same people and under same name. ridiculousness seriously. any-who more trees and poles down because of the lovely super-thick wet heavy snow. more power out, more gas issues because of gas stations losing power. this sucks on a different level. and the saddest thing i've found is they moved people from toms river north shelter and east to Monmouth county race track and put them IN TENTS! a tent-city situation. it's freezing, there's snow on the ground. people can't sleep because there's constantly helicopters and heavy machinery constantly moving around. they need to use one of lakewood township's empty warehouses instead if they had any sense. i'm sure they could find power for that easily of fort Monmouth has recently been closed. all they'd have to do is flip some switches . anything better than tents...

I've seen no profiteering by gas station. don't know how you can buy gas on the internet. Craiglist? If somebody waited in line and re-sell gas, they can charge whatever they want.

However, all my local gas stations have been selling gas, when they have them, at same prices as before Sandy.

I'm indignant! I paid my taxes, so I expect private companies to perform. With 900 thousands customer without power, I expect LIPA to fix my house first.

Dont they know that I'm a tax payer.

That aside, LIPA is incompetent but many companies are. Their weaknesses may not be exposed until "the time comes". Why spend money on infrastructures such as good command and control systems when you can make more short term profits.

I do the same with my companies, we cut corner, provides sub-standard services, when caught, declare bankruptcy. However, I've become rich, and my American dream came true for me. Making money is the highest goal for a human being.

Sounds like ýou live in a socialistic place.
Scarce resource + high demand should equal increased prices .

Yes i do.

I have access to the latest in observations and peer reviewed state of the art
understanding of the processes of climate. Aka climatology.

I and my family have real life interaction with it and that has enabled me to see firsthand consequences and mitigation in places like New York, Shanghai, Masdar City, Amsterdam,Oslo,Copenhagen and Kairo.
The Germans and the Dutch are particularly ahead on these issues and city and business planning increasingly are influenced by the reality of the issue.
Freiburg in Germany and Venlo in Holland are cities that are good examples.
There are good examples of cooperation between the scientific and the fossil fuel industries in Norway.

What real life work and education experience of climatology do you have that makes you feel you are able to assess the situation?

Is this another way of saying you know a climatologist?
