Default Bubka Jr. falls out of window, hospitalized

Crazy things happening these days

Sergei Bubka Jr.fell from a third-floor apartment Thursday morning in Paris and sustained serious injuries, the French press is reporting. The longtime boyfriend of WTA No. 1 Victoria Azarenka and the son of a former Olympic gold medalist (pole vaulting), Bubka was rushed to the intensive care unit of Georges Pompidou hospital. He is said to have sustained multiple fractures, but is no longer in critical condition. Apparently Bubka, ranked No. 186, got locked in a bathroom while staying in his friend’s apartment and tried to climb out of the window to access another room.

Unfortunately, this is end of his career, but I must admit, this guy's dumbass...

What a idiot. I dont understand how anyone can get locked in a toilet and not be heard or break the door down, something does not add up for sure.

I hope he makes a full recovery.

I never thought a player can be dumber than when Nadal burnt his fingers on a hot plate.

Dumbass...use a cell phone to call....or scream in the washroom.

He not Spiderman or James Bond to escape a window and get to another room.

You can't always see if a plate is hot or not. Pretty sure Nadal couldn't see if the plate was hot, and hence burned his fingers. I'm sure you've done that plenty of times. So I suppose someone must be dumb if they don't have infra-red eyesight.

Was he imitating his dad's 6 metre plus pole vault falls?

That's why you avoid to touch it and wait a few time before doing so.

Likely achohol was invilved. Perhaps he was also drunk, and didn't want to damage his friends house.

Perhaps his friend pranked him and locked him in. Everyone was drunk and thought it was a hilarious prank.

Why? They had been dating for nine years before they got married and had kids. Don't you think that is long enough? They obviously discussed the issue. Fed's main problem is his age now, not the fact that he has kids.

Just trying to throw some dirt on Fed like Fed fans do to Nadal.

Bubka Jr was one of the most promising tennis players on the tour and his father is one of the greatest athletes of all time. He was raised to respect his friends and their property, including malfunctioning property. Attempting to escape accidental detention without damaging the friend’s bathroom door was a courageous act of a great athlete and great friend and our hearts go out to him.

That sounds awful and I hope he'll be OK.

My brother's friend died after falling from height after climbing on things he shouldn't have. I'm sure a lot of people thought he was an idiot, but he was also a nice guy, so I'm possibly more sensitive than most, but I'm shocked that people think it's OK to laugh and mock someone who is probably facing life altering injuries. If not, he's been incredibly lucky.

Everyone does something stupid at least once in their life. Thankfully, most of us get away with it.
