Margaret Osborne DuPont, RIP....

I guess nobody noticed that she died last week, at age 94.
She's #4 on the all-time list for Grand Slam titles, winning 37 Slams from the '40s to the '60s. In singles, she won the US Open, the French, and Wimbledon at least once. She never played in Australia.
When I visit my hometown in Delaware, I like visiting the estate where she lived with her rich DuPont husband years ago, and honed her skills. There's lots of claycourts there, including 2 indoor ones that her husband built for her.

I posted somewhere else about this extraordinary champion who was a woman tennis revolutionary since she made more popular among womem the S&V style that reached its pinnacle 10 yrs later with Gibson, Hard,Court and King

Unfortunately very few posters are interested in former legends as you already implied

She could be well one of the greatest doubles players of all time, in womens doubles with Louise Brough, in mixed doubles with several players like Rosewall and Fraser. I think, she won mixed doubles majors until the early 60s with Neale Fraser.
