Here's something from my memory bank, about clutch and not so clutch serving. The last two points of the match. Sampress serving , looks weak after throwing up, makes a 2nd serve ace to get match point. Corretja, looks strong ,but makes a DF to loss the match. How important is the mental approach to serving? Not to take anything away from Corretja but the difference between good playersand great players is who DF? when the pressure is on and who make 2nd serve winers/ace when the pressure is on? |

You can not teach this stuff.
Either you have a great mental toughness or you choke. This is more remarkable since Sampress look so weak at the end. |
