Ferret will obviously follow the other top players and tank. he's done a great job at playing "tank chicken" basically getting as close to winning before tanking. Murray did well with his "missed" match point (good try but we've seen it twice in recent times so a bit obvious there Andy) Novak went for the bagel and a break option but the ferret has made it all the way to the final in the classic "can the unlucky fighter finally get a masters after years of trying when he's old and no one is in his way?.. No he can't"

Joking aside i think he will blow his chance to tank and win in 3.

Good points! Wasn't Andrei Pavel a qualifier back in 2003 when he reached the final and lost to Henman?

Weird final. So totally unexpected (as is often the case in Paris). If Janowicz won it, it would be quite extraordinary. When was the last time a guy ranked outside of the top 50 won a master? I must be a while...

More like Federer's pet. The H2H gap will increase by 1, if not 2 next week.

Not sure. Marcus Buckland, the Sky Sports interviewer, seemed to think so when he told Janowicz he was the first Masters finalist qualifier since Pavel at Paris '03 but when I checked the relevant Wiki entry it didn't indicate he was a qualifier although he was definitely unseeded. So I'm not sure's who's right!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_BN...%80%93_Singles

Incidentally 2003 Paris was actually the 2nd Masters final Pavel played unseeded. He had already played the 2001 Montreal final unseeded and won (beat Rafter)!

If not Havel, I think the last qualifier to make a Masters final may have been Harel Levy at 2000 Toronto (lost to Safin).

You gotta think that after the week he's had, he's gonna be the sentimental favourite and the French crowd will get behind him.

That being said, Ferrer is a fabulous defender, the guy is an absolute bulldog on the court and will fight for every point. Jerzy has to bring his quick strike tennis and not let up for potentially 3 sets, play aggressive and keep going after Ferrer with that forehand.

I think Ferrer wins it in 3 though, should be an interesting match up.

Is RAFA sending Ferrer out as a guinea pig tomorrow to test the waters?

Raonic has beat Ferrer and JJ is a force to be reckoned with in Paris. I would like Ferrer to win, but JJ has a good chance of winning this tournament and leaping ahead in the rankings. Looking forward ot an exciting final.

Raonic has never beaten Ferrer. They have played 4 times and Ferrer is 4-0.

JJ is a more rounded player than Raonic , i admit, Ferrer is a very good and pesky player, but I think JJ will win

Wow, good luck to him in the finals. Clear to see he wants this badly.

Not Before 3:00 PM (Paris Time)

Who wins ... for me either way it will be a great winner. On the one hand ferrer deserves a 1000 title. He is really unlucky to be in an era where the top 4 really dominating tennis in some style. So it will be a one chance only, given his age!
On the other hand, if JJ wins, it will be some kind of a sensation and the guy deserves it. I love how he gets emotional after winning, even in the interviews.

I really looking forward to tomorrow!
