oops, sorry
he called a foot fault on the very next point. I immediately stopped play, agreed that was his call (warning, so what, I just wanted to get this guy under control), and called for a line Judge. The director gave me one, and that was the end of that. We won the match, but my Dr. partner had to go out of town, so we had to forfeit the next round. Prolly kind of a dbag move on our part, but I really thought he was goign to be able to play in the next round... |

I did have a similar situation to what you describe. I was serving down match point in a 10-point match tiebreak. As I went to toss the ball, I heard someone stamping their feet. The opposing net player, who hadn't shuffled her feet at any time during the match, was suddenly making her shoes squeak as I tossed. I caught the toss. Next toss -- more shuffling. I caught the ball and tossed again. This went on for a few tosses, and finally she got bored or exhausted and decided to knock it off. I guess if she had kept it up we would still be there. We won the point and the match.
