Default Question about Nike CB warranty and cutting parts off of the shoe.

I'm at the period again where I think very little things are affecting my overall game adversely.

I actually thought about cutting away the drag-on layer on the Nike CB's to reduce weight, because I'm not a toe dragger just a sole sander. My question is whether or not this would void the 6-month warranty, even though I'm not tampering with the outsole.

Last time I tried modifying a shoe was for the CB 3.3. My fav shoe of all time, the 2.3, had absolutely comfortable and soft unitongue, but the 3.3's tongue was a joke. I therefore thought about modifying it nadal style for comfort, but I had the same issue and contacted nike about it. They told me any tinkering with the shoe would render teh warranty useless. I think its because people will try to get creative and the boundary between what's acceptable modification and whats not acceptable modification becomes complicated, so nike just straight up said no mods or no warranty.
plus, I wouldnt cut it away, just cuz thats not the main reason for the weight (most of the weight is the outsole) and if there is a time you dragged, it could burn right through the mesh or whatever is left and leave u with a hole in your shoe, or sock. Leave the cb as it is

Ehh, thought that might be the case. Looks like I have to deal with that extra ounce or two of weight.

I don't know anything about your particular situation, but I think you pretty much have correctly diagnosed the problem yourself: you're beating yourself mentally by becoming fixated with things that only matter in your own head.

You need to forget about the shoes!
