13+oz. nice in one sense i.e. for its shock absorption but, slow to come around when brushing up fast is needed, just ain't happening if consistently heavy topspin is desired.

Jack Kramer Autograph wood racket. 14 ounces yeah?

I have a [K]Six.One Tour leaded up to 13.8 ounces and probably a swingweight of at least 370.

My normal [K]Six.One Tours are leaded up to 12.98 ounces I think. It's whatever the number in my sig is. I really want something a bit lighter. Not as strong as I used to be.

14.0oz PSC6.1, SW well over 400. Super nice hitting frame, just my shoulder didn't care for it. Absolutely decimated groundies though haha.

Chris Evert wood racket (Wilson).

It's still hanging on my wall.

You are making it sound like a 13oz is heavy.. its just a couple ounces heavier than most racquets... you make it sound like it's a few pounds heavier.

After reading this thread I decided to take a look in my rdc log:

http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=308724

The top three heaviest racquets I've got, bar wood and steel, are the following ones:

1) Rossignol F200
Weight: 405/14.29
SW: 383

2) Kneissl White Star Mid
Weight: 399/14.07
SW: 372

3) Dunlop Max 150G
Weight: 394/13.90
SW: 389

I feel swing weight is also rather important, and based on that the following racquets are in the top three;

1) Dunlop Max 150G
SW: 389
Weight: 394/13.90

2) Dunlop Maxpower Mid
SW: 384
Weight: 387/13.65

3) Rossignol F200
SW: 383
Weight: 405/14.29

I bring those heavy weights out from time to time, makes you appreciate the maneuverability of the 13 oz/350 sw racquets...

i used to tune my donnay borg pro's (woodies) to 420g and a balance of 35cm (topheavy). specs of course strung. i dare not think of the swingweight but in those times tennis was not that fast as today.

Pretty much like to use really heavy graphite frames as "trainers" more than regular players. I've got a pair of leaded up (for more HL balance) LM Prestige mids that weigh 13.4 oz. and these are great because they ONLY work well if I use good timing and mechanics to hit the ball. Thinking of actually using them on a couple of the kids I coach to help them set up sooner and use more of their kinetic chain instead of "arming" their shots too often.

Those racquets have 11 pts. HL balance and my stock 13.0 oz Prince NXG mids have maybe 10 pts. HL balance. Have to say that those heavier frames can be fun, but only for ripping it at full speed. My go-to Volkl C10s weigh 12.5 oz. (leaded handles for 10 pts. HL balance) and while these are heavy enough to be stable 'n all that, they're also light enough for me to comfortably whup around when making extra spin or for settings like teaching where I'm not pounding the ball.

Physics can be quite the mixed bag I suppose...

Never been into heavy frames. Heaviest is the one I am using now, the Yonex VCORE 97 (330) 12.3 ounces, 8 HL. Pretty sturdy but manageable.

The heaviest i ever used was my first debacle with lead tape. I had no scale so i assumed my Speed Pro was 14oz, 375 SW. As it turned out it was really 18oz with a SW of 450. IT STILL FELT LIGHT, WTF!!

I must say I am amazed at the weights I have read here, as I can;t imagine how my shoulder would feel after a set with any of those mentioned....

I have found (now in my 40's) that anything above a static weight of 330-ish, simply does eventually play havoc with my shoulder.....I wonder if any of you had any shoulder issues at all, from serving?

I played the T2000 too but forgot to mention it as my heaviest racket. I am not sure how much it weighted but probably more than my 12.6 oz heaviest modern racket (TF 320 customized). Also, I am not sure how much the old wood Jack Kramer ProStaff weighed.

The T2000 head was about an inch wider than my outstreched hand - I could strech out my fingers and place my hand on the stringbed and just about touch the frame all around my hand. Sweetspot was the size of a pea.

I picked up a Prince Series 90 Graphite Pro last week that tips in at 365g with dampener and overgrip. It comes in at 14 points HL so it is quite maneuverable and is rock solid on volleys.

Last 2 years, been playing with a set of DunlopAero500's, at 10 oz strung.
2 days a go, grabbed an old Aero200 at 13 oz strung and headed for the courts. Wall hitting was fine. Rallying from the baseline was fine. Even volleys seemed fine. Then slow doubles started.
From the first ball, I was late for everything. Late or mishit (smaller headsize than what I was using). Reaction volleys were not too bad, but little putaway power. Putaway volleys were fine.
Serves were beyond horrid. Swingspeed and ball bite hard to achieve. Second serves lacked precision. First volleys were strong, but all over the map, either trampolining or mishitting. Overheads were fine.
Just weird, to sink to the level of the players on the court just because my racket was 3 oz's heavier than what I"ve played with the last 2 years.

THe heaviest racquet I ever tried was the k88 with lead at the 3 and 9, it was around 13oz strung. It didn't last very long, it was the only racquet that ever gave me arm pain even strung without poly.

I played with some redic 380 g. 400SW pro kennex mid. i played a lot like borg. slower, but more deliberate swing? and i was hitting loopy deep topspin shots with ease.

Mine was probably Lendl's racquet, Adidas GTX Pro T. I had that racquet in '88/'89. I remembered playing pretty well with it.
