Post What do you do with Worn out Tennis Shoes?

I'm curious what people do when the shoes are smooth.

Other-examples- I throw them at cats making too much noise,,Have the dog play fetch with them,,use them as paper weight,,,

most of time, I sent worn out shoes for warranties but I wear worn out non-warranty shoes for yard work or when I go to neighborhood stores such as supermarket, home depot, and post office etc...
Usually those shoes looks new because most of non-warranty shoes does not offer good durability so I've used those shoes less than 5-7 weeks. if I start pile up my non-warranty shoes, I might throughout at Nike store shoes recycle box.

Yard work. Specifically used for cutting the lawn.

As long as the rubber hasn't gone hard, they are also very good for going up on my roof to clear out the gutters.

If I really like the shoes and the uppers still look fine then I just use black shoe goo and patch up the bottom sole so there aren't any holes and wear it casually. Other beaten up shoes unfortunately end up in the trash, can't really donate shoes that can't be worn anymore...I really wish there was a recycling system or something at the tennis courts so they could maybe reuse the rubber or something.

Recycle, recycle, recycle.

Most, if not all NIKE stores and/or Adidas stores have bins up front where you can donate your old worn shoes.

do it.

I sell them on big auction site. Amazing what some will pay for worn shoes.

Pack them when traveling, use them to traipse around when on vacation, then throw them away to make extra room in luggage on the way home.

My father used to do that until he slipped on some wet grass and blew out his rotator cuff. He's still kicking himself about that one. Tennis shoes don't exactly have the best grip to begin with, never mind worn out ones.

If they haven't gone in for warranty due to holes then I give them to charity but they're usually too messed up.

Yeah just use them for less intensive activities like yard work, or walking around, etc.

I keep one pair for dirty work. The rest goes to charity or trash if they are too far gone.

Find a place where homeless congregate. Leave them with the regular clothes you donate and make a local difference.
