Default How great would the Australian Open 2013 be if...

...the form of the following players all show up?

-2008 AO Tsonga
-2005/06 Federer
-2011 Djokovic version 2.0
-2008 Nadal
-2009 USO Del Potro
-2012 USO Murray
-2010 Wimby Berdych
-2010 AO Davydenko
-2009 AO Verdasco

Would be fun if everybody was in god-mode!

Bunch of blowouts in the early rounds to the triple bagel variety and then Federer just pwns everyone?

Sure, sign me up.

2012 US Murray was crap.....better 2010 Aussie and 2012 Wimbledon Murray.

Better 2009 AO Nadal or 2010 US Nadal than 2008 Nadal.

Federer 2006 vs Djokovic 2011 final.

It would just be federer winning everything. Honestly his form in 2006 was untouchable

I think Nadal and Djokovic would give him a lot of trouble. The AO hardcourt suits their games better than it does Federer's. Nadal would still be finding Federer's backhand.

Tsonga, Verdasco and Davy partying up like there is no tomorrow. they will be ~15% overweight and move like turtle come aussie open time. I doubt Roger will be ready, he needs to rest his aching old body somemore.

I'd say add a dash of Younes/Roddick and perhaps a touch of '12Bercy JJ...then the stew would be quite tasty!

AO 2009 Nadal probably wouldn't have gotten past 2009 Federer if Federer had his serve on that day. Federer of 2006 would have definately taken that version of Nadal.

I think it comes down to Federer and Djokovic, Nadal can't get through an on fire Djokovic and I think peak Federer is slightly better than peak Djokovic.

^ Nadal looked slow in the AO final compared to his movement in the semi. Federer was lucky he faced a tired Nadal. Not lucky enough though....as Nadal won 6-2 in the 5th.

I wonder if Talk Tennis has given up on Federer yet in a match vs Nadal. Even at the 2012 AO when Nadal said he wouldn't be able to adjust to his new racquet weight until he had all of Feb to train with it, Nadal still beat Federer in 4 sets....

And Federer had won 26 matches in a row prior to that 2012 AO semi.

Why did nadal_ownz_fedjok get banned? He seemed like an extremely reasonable poster.

Anyway, as we saw in Roland Garros 2008, when Nadal is in god-mode, Federer wins 4 games in a slam final. The all-time record holder for slams gets bageled and breadsticked in a grand slam final. That's Rafael "Unstoppable" Nadal.
