Post ATP Challenger Tour Finals Sao Paulo, Brazil

Romanian Adrian Ungur booked his place in the title match at the ATP Challenger Tour Finals after defeating Slovenian Aljaz Bedene 6-4, 6-1 on Friday in Sao Paulo. Ungur broke Bedene to take the set lead and lost just 15 points total in the second set, closing out the victory in one hour and 15 minutes.

Guido Pella has a 3-0 record in ATP Challenger Tour finals in 2012, winning titles in Salinas, Manta and Campinas, and has an opportunity to break into the Top 100 of the South African Airways ATP Rankings with a victory Saturday.

Whom will win Guido Pella or Adrian Ungur ?

I'd rather watch the WTA than this.

Cool

Ungur won their RR match in 3rd-set TB. Maybe Pella this time...he's played better on the SA Challenger swing prior to the Finals.

Cool

I see the final was almost a carbon copy of their RR match...except Pella won the 3rd-set TB. Congrats!

Another lefty winner of the title...maybe Pella breaks through a bit better than last year's lefty winner, Stebe.

Thumbs up

Congrats Guido Pella,,

Pella Wins ATP Challenger Tour Finals Crown.

Seventh seed Guido Pella edged No. 6 seed Adrian Ungur 6-3, 6-7(4), 7-6(4) on Saturday evening to capture the ATP Challenger Tour Finals trophy in Sao Paulo. With his victory, Pella will crack the Top 100 in the South African Airways ATP Rankings for the first time.

The match was really special because if I lost I would be out of the Top 100 and I would have to wait until 2013 to see if I could get in,” said Pella. “My goal this year was getting closer to this group. I was able to get through that and everything will be different next year. I expect to stay in the Top 100 for a long time.
