Default Crazy schedule for Djokovic in 2013

It's interesting how Djokovic and Federer plan their schedules. On one side, it seems that Federer is very carefull not to overload his schedule.

On the other Djokovic seems to be eager to take advantage of his current dominance to play (and rack up money) as much as he can.

I found his schedule to be quite crazy.

Playing the Mubadala and then the Hopman Cup back to back doen't look to be the best choice to prepare the Australian Open.

Planning to play the Davis Cup in Belgium soon after the Australian Open seems to be suicidal.

As they have pointed out, Tipsarevic and Troicki have good chances to win against Belgium

Djokovic won't burn out, he's still young.

What exactly is he going to withdraw from? I think this is his usual schedule plus Davis Cup.

All the top guys minus Fed are playing that Abu Dhabi exhibition for the $$$$. And the Hopman Cup isn't exactly grueling.

Of course Fed is going to cut down on the number of tournaments, he's older and no longer going to go for #1.

Nah he's a warrior with excellent stamina, as long as he doesn't get injured the packed schedule will not be much of a problem

He will withdraw from tournaments citing "fatigue".

And the rules don't require him to play.

But why would he do that when he played all of them in 2012, except for Davis Cup? You obviously dislike Djokovic and that's fine, but this doesn't make sense. He's going to play them all because he wants to rack up the points/remain #1, rack up the money, and apparently wants to support his country in the Davis Cup.

Yeah, I wasn't dissing Federer, just explaining his 2013 mentality to the original poster who said Federer was "careful not to overload his schedule."

He needs the money. His family is relatively poor. His dad still doesn't have a Ferrari in the garage.

Because this year he will cut the tournaments in favor of Davis Cup. This has nothing to do with my opinion on Djokovic, it's what I believe he's going to do.

He'll be fine. He is tireless and never gets injured so I don't see anything wrong with this schedule.

He might not burn out, but we saw what happens to him physically at the end of 2011 when he plays too much.

i dont understand on one side top players complain about long season, on the other hand they have 3.5 months off during the calender year.
no top player plays during february after australian open
then top players take one month off after wimbledon
after YEC, there is no tennis for 6 weeks. so thats how top players rest 3 months and 2 weeks
