Hey Guys,
Was wondering if you could help me decipher a little mystery. I originally thought I purchased an unlabelled tgk237.1 but now i'm not so sure. Take a look at this frame...at 1st I thought it could be a knock off but know I'm not sure what to think...see below. ![]() MG prestige throats by DavaiMarat, on Flickr ![]() MG prestige Hoops Inner by DavaiMarat, on Flickr So you can clearly see the paint job is miticulously accurate but it's missing where the tie off holes are suppose to be. Also the micro gel decal is slightly off in the inner hoop. Last edited by DavaiMarat : 11-19-2012 at 10:42 PM. |

![]() Weird one...hair pin with holes drilled in it by DavaiMarat, on Flickr ![]() Hairpint of weird one by DavaiMarat, on Flickr This is the hairpin handle of the mystery frame. As you can see there are actually 'holes' drilled in it. Never ever have I seen that. It has a sticker with chinese writing on it a clear sign it wasn't made in kennelbach. Though someone did write TGK237 on it. Last edited by DavaiMarat : 11-19-2012 at 10:43 PM. |

So I immediately thought chinese knock off until I took off the pallets off the TGK237.1. The TGK237.1 has a different label 'BUT' the label also has chinese characters in it....and i'm sure this one is legit.
![]() Hairpin of TGK237.1 by DavaiMarat, on Flickr Below is the retail hairpin label. The only label with 'NO' chinese written on it. ![]() Hairpin of Retail by DavaiMarat, on Flickr Oddly both the mystery stick and tgk had little strips of white paper (long gone from wear and tear) with exact weight measurements and balance etc cover with tape. So both have been customized to an extent it seems. Last edited by DavaiMarat : 11-19-2012 at 10:51 PM. |

As for weight
Without the anything but the hairpin (no silicon) the specs were like this. TGK237.1 - 233g Balance of 33.3cm Mystery frame 239 Balance of 33.7cm Retail MG prestige mid 250g (still got the grommet on so i didn't get an accurate measurement). So anyone encounter a frame like this before? It came with a legitimate TK76 pallet. I'm puzzled since most chinese knock off have resin and no pallet system. I know you experts must know something. |
