After 6 months of rest he already speaks about pampering physical problems. From which, of course, we will not see anythig, come the clay-court season.

So, you think too, that Toni should not make comments like that?

i think 'uncle toni' is too old school..he just sits there watching tennis, thinking about rafa and training and tournaments and injuries..
where is his i-phone ? or blackberry ??..maybe a crafty look at some porn on hamsterx while waiting for rafa to serve..or some film clips on youtube of 'The Godfather' or maybe 'The Titfield Thunderbolt'..uncle toni needs to immerse himself in 21st century media and not just worry about rafa all the time.. why not be evil...'Uncle Toni' could change Federers wiki page and alter his career stats and move the green squares for major wins (when fed n rafa were in major finals) over to rafas page and give roger nadals purple Final squares instead. |

I'm not a ******* or nadtar or whatever **** you are a fan of, I enjoy watching them all play. I don't know how anyone would pick to play in hardcourts or grasscourts over clay, just to be able to see where the ball bounced, to be able to slide on the clay... Clay is tennis, hardcourts were made just to make the maintenance of the courts cheaper, that's why they are more spread all over the states. Europe and latin america are where most of the claycourts are and im glad that happens. I don't know if everyone that posted in this thread has ever played on clay, to say that to play in hardcourt for 2 hrs would give you less injuries than a 3 hrs match in clay is nonsense, everyone knows that clay is way more forgiving than hardcourts to the joints on knees and ankles. And there are really fast claycourts, there are some that are even faster that some hardcourts it depends on how the surface was built and which clay and who much the courts has. Sometimes reading the post from the fans just blinded by their fanatism is sad. As to what Tony said it is true that there are more hardcourt tournaments than clay tournaments, that is a fact, and is not hard to believe that he would lobby to have the surface that nadal likes the most, just like when federer himself said that he would like to se more faster surfaces after losing in basel. Just my thoughts.

I agree that clay is awesome. I just wish they would make more faster clay. It's not the surface that is annoying, it's the speed and height of the bounce that leads to endless boring grinding. Fast clay courts are super bad*****.
Also there should be an even amount of grass and clay tournaments. The end.

LOL, you acting as these journalists are out to get Toni Nadal. Your translating isn't accurate. One of the member at Youtube(from your link) had him saying..."If we all can get them (Roger and Djokovic) injured, it would be really good for us"

Journalists are under pressure from their editors, who are under pressure from the proprietors, to get a juicy story, and thus increase corporate profits. You should know how the bourgeois press works, particularly those newspapers who shut out journalist trade unions.

Things start as something and then evolve, I don't think you want to play tennis with your hand as they did in the beginnings. Anyway if you think the best way to have fun and play tennis is on grass be my guest and do it.

Of course I'm not saying you cant like it or that tennis on grass or hardcourt is not tennis, in my opinion, tennis is way better on clay. I would love to know how many of the people that post here have really tried clay. I would guess that a lot of the people that post from USA have never played on a clay court.
