![]() This was done by an Indian artist Nalini Malani. It doesn't say whether this is official or a joke ![]() |

Agreed. Hopefully the quality of the tennis far surpasses the quality of the poster.

I don't know
I kinda like it(minus the butterflies which are redundant IMO) reminds me of some of the early 20th century posters we studied in high school

I don't even know how to describe those balls and the person rolling around like a kid. Probably some sort of abstract art thing the artist is trying to put through.

Eek
I wonder if this was their inspiration, except they hired a bad artist and made him look like he was pretending to be a cat or something: ![]() |

It looks like Nadal is the best in whole universe with those balls representing planets etc..................
N yeah the butterflies are dreams of roger lying on his back, hurt thinking of beating the BEAST.

I hadn't noticed the butterflies at first either. I was too distracted by the weird planets and guy clawing on his back at the bottom!

The main theme is around the woman player. She is in a stride, and the two tennis balls under her feet also represent planets to emphasis the leap forward.
One of the balls, the one in the middle also looks like a petri dish, which is used to grow different types of organisms, the metaphor for life. The fallen player and butterflies represent dream (notice they are golden) and the constant battle to improve and to grow, to get better and fly higher. Butterflies go through different and very interesting stages of cultivation and so do tennis players(the ones that do, eventually). This is very traditional and dry, in my opinion. This would do well in a gallery representation with a predefined theme, as a contest for example after some big news or event in tennis. But for a tennis tournament that tries to be exciting and create a fun environment this would not do. I would prefer to see something more modern, something more attractive to the youth. That's not Roland Garros, that you're thinking of. It'a Roland Garros the Sci-Fi flick that's coming out in May.
