Default TW, can you do either a playtest or a review of ALU?

I am replenishing my supply of ALU, and I found this review which in relative terms absolutely SLAMS the Lux. It is, however, dated 04/2003 and many of the strings the playtesters normally use are discontinued. More importantly, most of them are synthetics. I know it's likely your best selling poly along with RPM, but I would be interested to see how times have changed with the changes in the game.

I believe they just did a video review of it as well as Pro Hurricane Tour and Volkl Cyclone Tour.

Can someone clarify what they mean by luxilon ice is deader and softer than grey. I was under the impression those are almost always opposites. Softer = livelier and stiffer = deader.

No they can't, because that description really does make zero sense. I've seen the video review which is exactly why I wanted a text review. The guy in the video isn't hitting with the RHS to get much out of ALU in the first place.

There's a funny exchange between some guy and Andy Gerst on that YouTube page

SummerOfGeorge97: Andy, that was one hell of a shot at 2:25. How much of that ability would you estimate was due to your mustache?

Andy, TW: @SummerOfGeorge97, Honestly, I blacked out and didn't even remember doing it. As the mustache grew, it sometimes took over my brain, and forced me to do things I wouldn't normally do. Kind of like that Jim Carrey movie The Mask. That shot was one of those times.

Have you ever hit Polyfibre TCS? It is soft but dead. Soft doesn't always equate to elasticity. It can, however, lead to a higher launch angle which may give the player more depth (loopier shot) until he/she makes the adjustment.

Pleeeease? Updated written review of ALU? It doesn't really matter for me since I need to stock it anyway, hence me buying a mini-reel from you a day ago haha

pvaudio,

The written review is being edited. I can't give you a time frame, unfortunately, but it is coming.

I'm sure you realize this, but for anyone that may not, the old review is the USRSA 2003 review, not done by TW.

I do look forward to TW's written review.

I'm currently testing ALU in my usual gut/poly setup and tension (all things the same except for ALU, same tension, stick, etc). It is definitely a confidence boosting string; all control. Tension loss isn't too terrible as a cross.

Yep that's exactly why I requested it. It wasn't their review which isn't consistent with the reviews of their current top end strings.
