Default favourite old multiplayer games?

was working on an article yesterday about some of the pc games I played growing up where Player 1 and Player 2 could share the same keyboard. kind of a shame that not many games support that nowadays. what were your favourites?

(my list here: http://indecentxposure.com/grind/58e...c687040d529a2/)

Well, GoldenEye for one. Shame though I only played it a few times and didn't have enough friends to play it with if I would've bought it.

The first Smash Bros and Mario Tennis for the N64 has lead to some ridiculous battles over the years though, and they have a special place in my heart.

Mario Kart 64 or SSB original hands down. Mario tennis was meh, but still better than Virtua tennis 4

The Arcade fighters. Street Fighter 2 and Mortal Kombat stick out for me. So many quarters pumped into those.

For the home consoles I remember the NBA Jam tournaments on the sega genesis and the big one was in high school with NFL Blitz on the N64. Those games where fun and quick perfect for making a bracket and having a tourny.

you just reminded me of this old arcade NHL game where it's 2vs2 and a goalie. My favourite team in it was the Blues (Brett Hull and two other guys - maybe Pat Janney and Grant Fuhr or something). Kind of like NHL Hitz but it was released in the mid 90s.

The original Super Smash Brothers. It's the only game where you can get a laugh out of dying.

I wasted hours & hours at work playing Duke Nukem in multiplayer mode.

Grab a jetpack, RPG launcher & fire away...

Back in the day id play Battlefield 1942 all the time. It was one of the first multiplayer games I've ever played online, a true classic.

Conkers Bad Fur Day. Me and my friends spent an entire summer playing that game it was so fun. If I still had an n64 I'd be playing it now.

oh yeah. HALO, the original. The sequels never hit that spot for me, but HALO: Combat Evolved. So much time wasted playing that game.

Also, even though it's not Multiplayer, does anyone here dig Shadow of the Colossus? My roommate in college and I played that game way too much.
