P.S. I've been using Babolat VS Gut since the juniors.
We've noted your previous comments and sent them to the product team. Have a great weekend.

Old school. I love it. We don't keep any in stock. You might try calling TW and see if they have any old demos?

Default Gift Cards

Why is Babolat the only racquet company that will not let us use our holiday gift cards for their products. Where's their holiday spirit !! Kind of greedy. I have a few cards and would buy Babolat (if I could).

Look at it this way, we have the longest product cycle in the industry (3 years), so when you do purchase our product, it sticks around longer and your product is not outdated.

Would Pure Drive be a good choice? I'm also interested in trying the new Aero. I'm so confused

We love how active the forums are. You are the “tennis nuts” who help keep our sport alive and growing. I am not here to sell you Babolat product. Some people love Babolat. But a lot of people don’t…and that is perfectly OK. We all love tennis.

Think of me as an informational resource. I don’t have all the answers at my fingertips, but I’ll try to get them from the right teams (product, warranty, etc.). There is also a fair amount of speculation, production information, etc., in the forums, which is a good thing. When it comes to Babolat product, feel free shoot me an email: dbecker@babolat.com. You are an extremely active and informed community, and I would love to help when possible.

My tennis background:
Playing experience: Division 3 (Kenyon College)
Playing style: aggressive baseliner
Current set-up: 2013 Aeropro Drive, RPM 18 @48 lbs, Leather Grip, VS original grip

Tension was 60-65 until Pro Red Code. Since then, 48-52 depending on conditions.

Can't believe it, but I made the switch to Babolat!

I have always hated Bab because I love the heritage of Wilson, old school 90 inch head, Wilson has soul.

However after this test play with the Pure Drive GT, I mean it's awesome. I can hit anything, but it makes things so much easier. The biggest thing was my son, 12 years old, running me around the court, hitting everything.

I despise the "Modern Game", large racquets, but reality is reality, and by the way you CAN serve and volley with the PD, it really can do it all, is forgiving, you can take monster hits and it goes in, has more spin potential than the Wilson 99s.

So you got me, a die hard, old school, small head size French resenting player! Two more racquets sold for Bab!

I'm going to echo the sentiments of others on this board. If you have the ability to playtest...do it. We can debate the merits of a racquet until we go blue in the face (or is it fingers because we are on a message board), but until you get the racquets in your hands and string them up, we can only postulate.

TW has a solid demo program.

Yea, I still hate you guys, you have no heritage or heart, look at your response, says it all.

My son hates it also, but as he says "Heh, can we repaint this so no one will know, I can play better with it, so I'd rather win".

Can't wait until Wilson comes out with a racquet that is similar, will switch back in a second.

If you hated the brand that much you would not use it. And why do you think they have no heart or heritage, if you ask me I think Wilson has the worst customer service. There are lots of racquets that are close to the PD.

Have you ever hated anything? Have you lied that you didn't? I don't lie.

My point is that Wilson has a heritage that emotionally gets to me, all the great hero's, Pete, Roger, etc.

I'm sorry that I don't lie to you, but yea that's how I FEEL, sorry, but Babs to me are mechanical pieces of graphite without any venerableness.

Another genius, "If you hated it that much you wouldn't use it"! My POINT, if you have an IQ is that "I DO hate Bab but am switching", get it?

Doesn't matter what brand you use, why? are you a sponsored player?

Certainly there are many companies that you could justifiably question 'heritage'...but give a thought to what brand of gut was in many of the frames that won Grand Slams for years and years. Whether you like their frames or not, they are clearly a long standing part of tennis history.

I also find that Babolat Rackets are not for tennis players with arm problems or who have had arm pain in the past.

What will be different for the 2014 model of the Pure Storm Ltds? Any new tech or any different specs?
