The only one I ever gelled with was the swirly Pure Control...and even that made my elbow hurt after a while. Only racquet I've owned that caused that.

Besides that, it actually worked really well with my old school game. Served like a monster, too.

Yeah, my PS Team gave me tennis elbow (though my serve was messed up, to be fair; that's what my coach blamed for 95% of it). However, a Wilson Shock Shield grip fixed the problem literally instantly. Gave it a better feel, too. I would give them a try if I were you. Don't want to seem like I'm advertising Wilson or anything, but the change is remarkable.

Aside from that, I love the Pure Storm. After playing with the others in the Babolat line, I've come to appreciate the lack of extra power (though the Team gives more than any of the others in the line). With gel in the grip and RPM/synthetic hybrid @ 56, in the strings, it feels amazing, too. Really clean.

Also, I'm very anxiously awaiting the next line. 2014?

I'm four racquets past the PC, so I'm not looking to go back to it. Besides, I cut the handle down to 25.5 for my son when he was younger. It doesn't help that its stiffness is RA72.

I'll probably try whatever the new, traditional-ish Control / Storm replacement ends up being, but I've pretty well moved on.

Hello Daniel,

I would like to ask if some Pro players use customized Pure Storm Team GT.

Thanks.

Playing with strings in the 2013 Aeropro Drive plus. I have one racquet with RPM 18 at 45lbs, one with Gut/RPM at 60lb and 56lbs, and one with RPM 17 at 52lbs. First off this racquet is great and plays well with any string, its super forgiving in terms of string choice.
The RPM 18 at 45 is so much fun off the ground, the level of pace and spin is incredible, plus it has great control, and better feel than the 17 for touch shots. I am however having a hard time getting used to it on serves, the pace and control is not really there for me. This is where the GUT/RPM really shines, and which is a big part of the reason it has become my favorite overall setup for this racquet.

Hi! According to TWU, Rpm team is by far the best Babolat poly holding tension, actually among any other brand only 4g has such a small tension loss, can you confirm? It has also a high stiffness rate despite being marketed as softer than Rpm blast. Thank you in advance.

Not sure if this good question ever got answered in this thread - it does seem that Bab sticks are not as well engineered to be arm friendly as other brands. I hear these complaints all the time.

Other than that, I'm quite fond of the Bab tennis balls and love the SFX shoes I recently bought.

And thanks for participating on the forum in this way. Would like to see other brands do the same.

I'm sure that Daniel and others can comment on this, but I've long contended that the Drives and Aeros work better with modern, brushing strokes, as opposed to the old school, pressuring, hitting-through-the-ball strokes like mine.

With the full / extreme Western grips, you don't feel the stiffness as much at impact, in part because it's less direct impact, more re-direction of the ball.

The Pure Control I used worked pretty well with my traditional strokes, but the RA 72 stiffness was felt as well.

I totally agree with this, and yet, with really good timing and a relaxed grip, you dont feel the impact that much with flat strokes either.

I haven't seen the test numbers for other brands, so I can't say. Can you send me the link to the test you are referring to?

All poly strings are pretty stiff. RPM Team is a softer version of RPM Blast.

haha, I'm not sure who started the rumor that we create frames to destroy arms. As some of the other posters have mentioned, there are a lot of variables to consider: game style, stroke style, string, tension, strength, etc.

Glad you like the shoes!

All poly strings are pretty stiff. RPM Team is a softer version of RPM Blast.
It's in the strig performance database, according to the lab tests, the stiffness of the Rpm team 16 is 280 lbs/in with a total tension loss of 11 lbs, whereas Rpm Blast 16 has a stiffness of 230 lbs/in and a tension loss of 23,4 lbs.
