Hard to beat Goldens, although Belgian Malanois' are very cool dogs, too.

I like Mastiffs (English, American, Bull). Intimidating and protective of their families but gentle and loving with children. My puppy James showed amazing instincts early. He was very watchful and loving with my youngest son who is Autistic and was very protective of him. My son can be a flight risk and James always stayed close to him.

Laborador Retriever would be my first choice, followed by a Bichon Frise.

Beagles are true pals, too.

When my black lab was still with us, she did. Total bed hog, and a great 90 lb. lap dog, as well...she's been gone 5 years, now. Wife and I are finally ready to get another dog.

My Lab/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix in my avatar pic sleeps with me every night. Thank god I have a queen sized bed as his 120lbs takes up about 75% of the bed when stretched out.

We have 2 Scottie's (white/wheaten color) and every night they wait u til we crash and jump on our bed and by morning wedged between the wife and I.

Awesome dogs but true terriers..........think they run the world and give you that "you want me to do what" look all the time.

I used to sleep with my German shephard mix when I was child. I will
get my dog after I purchase a house soon. Or maybe I will have children first before a dog. I have to wait and see how it goes

These are my two GSP sweethearts. They are part of family and I'll be very sad when they go to heaven one day. Best dogs I've ever had.
