Just looking at the given extract, I loved his answers. Sounds honest and plain simple. And then I read the replies and wonder, "Why do people derive interpretations and conclusions"??!!

5. Federer is close to European players of his generation like Koubek, Haas, Chuidinelli, Henman, Mirnyi etc. He's not aloof, just doesnt hang out with the crowd he's not close to plus he's a family man unlike many others.

This entire post= unabashed ******* butthurt.

Not sure what to make of Nadal's gamemanship, I don't like it but I'd do the exact same things I expect lol.

If Hewitt said Federer is the GOAT, everything would be fine, right?

He said that plenty of times already.

Hewitt annoyed that his kids love Nadal more than him in tennis. Apart from that Hewitt adores Nadal.

Good to see Hewitt speaking truth and not sucking up to Top Players.

Why the hell should rivals admire each other? They're trying to kill each other out there, it's bad blood and there is only one survivor. It's kill or be killed on the ATP Tour.

Of course it would. Then Nikdom would have no problem with Hewitt's opinion, and would be praising him for his good taste. Lol.

LOL

You guys are such kids. I'm not a fan of Hewitt and that's regardless of his opinion of Roger, which, if I'm not mistaken, is favorable from the interview above.

I was responding to the post where someone said they would miss Hewitt. Perhaps you're all too young to remember the Blake incident or Hewitt's bad behavior in general.

Tomic is a big fan of Roger. But just because he is a Roger fan, I wouldn't hesitate to call him an idiot - which he is. So stop projecting your insecurities on other people. Perhaps you think that way about those who don't absolutely love Nadal, but my distaste for Hewitt has nothing to do with Fed. If he identifies with Nadal that's understandable - birds of the same feather flock together.

I wouldn't give Hewitt the time of day if I were Federer and that's speaking as an Australian. I wouldn't be surprised if many of the other players felt the same way. There are plenty who love him because of his success and fighting spirit but there are a lot who found him a national embarrassment. He was one of the most unsportsmanlike players ever, there's aggressive and then there's just boorish. If it wasn't for his success he would be remembered like a Jeff Tarango nut job. He's trying to remake himself with a little more charm as his career comes to an end now and some media work beckons but the gulf in class between him and Pat Rafter left many people disappointed.

The interview shows why the guy is such a good commentator.
He tells it like it is and he's such a student of the game.
Hewitt with a big serve would have been really something.

Isn't Hewitt just a weaker, smaller version of Djokovic?

yes the fed ***** Show their whole dumbness again.

Hewitt actually said that federer was the highest Level Player he ever faced. the nadal compliment sounded more like a backhanded one (you could translate that into "nadal is a bully and cheater").

but of course fed ***** are so paranoid that they cannot accept anything other than "heil federer" said about their german speaking Idol.

it really says something about a "fan" (guy who never played Tennis...) when he sees a hater of his Idol when Hewitt said that fed was the highest Level he ever faced...

Well not everyone can have class like Federer to sulk in front of the world when an opponent beats him in a major final and spoil his moment.

Or the class to swear at an umpire again in a major final dropping an f-bomb when he knows there would be millions of kids watching that idolise him, such as yourself.

Or the class to say things like "I always enjoy playing against Andy.... and that's not because I always beat him"

Or the class to prance around at Wimbledon with a women's style gold handbag

Or the class to yell "SHUT UP" at the fans

Amongst many other classy acts...

I have no problem showing my children that stuff as opposed to someone who picks their rear then touches their face.
