Default My Slighter Bigger Shoe Plan Has Failed!

I'm always between an 11 1/2 and twelve: 12s in T22's, 11 1/2s in Big Shots, etc. So a couple of weeks ago I went to buy a pair of B7. Burned through two pairs of Big Shots way too quickly in the last six months and wanted to try the Barricades as they're known for their durability.

Went with the 12s because I thought the 11 1/2s felt a little snug in the store, but my feet are moving around way too much. Blisters forming in three different spots. The shoes are used. I can't return them. What next? Double socks? Does that work? Just throw them away and buy another pair? Anybody had this predicament before? I've never had a pair of shoes give me so much trouble right out of the box, and it's mainly because I bought the wrong size.

I think extra thick sock or double sock should fix it right up. Hopefully you'll wear it out before the hot summer comes where extra thick sock is not so desirable.

Double socks, it works for Federer, should work for you. More cushioning, less blisters, your feet will thank you.

Try also adding a second insole, it will make it snugger, with the second pair of socks. I do the same thing, buy a half size bigger and practice in them as they area little bigger and clunkier, then play matches in the proper fitting shoe and then I feel perfect and a shade quicker and sharper with footwork.

Anything for a lil mental edge helps )

Next time you could try the 11½ and NO insole. It probably sounds strange for a lot of people here, but I have done that a lot, and was very happy about it.

Yes, Bartelby, I do. I'm not sure I understand the sarcasm of your post? What, tie them tighter? That doesn't necessarily make your forefoot move around less. Anyway. It's not rocket science; I was just throwing it out there for some feedback.

I don't think Bartelby is mocking you...

Check out this site, it has been very helpful to some of my friends who had problems with their shoes:

Not sure I quite follow... But I have used Asics extensively for running, tennis and walking without insoles and was happy with it. Some shoes have a sort of "build in" insole under the whole foot, while others have it only in the heel area.

Same thing happened to me and I just used two pairs of socks. Adding another insole? Wouldn't that cause heel to slip out easier?

There might be a piece of foam in it, IIRC in Nike+ shoes, there's a piece of foam in the slot/hole for it.

Did double socks today. First day since I bought the B7s that I didn't notice them on my feat. Still sucked and got straighted, but that's because my form has gone to sh&* in the last month. It's cold here in Southern Cal.
