Default Hopman Cup 2013

Who's watching Hopman Cup this year? I might catch it.

Pretty good draw for Hopman Cup.

Djokovic-Tomic-Haas-Seppi all in the same group.

Djoker vs the future "greatest player to ever play this game" Tomic is going to be a real parade.

Isner-Tsonga-Anderson-Verdasco in the next group.

For the girls you have:

Petkovic-Ivanovic-Barty (16 year old Aussie)-Schiavone

Venus-Scheepers-Medina Garigues-Johannson

Starts December 29th.

You are probably a kid, so your foolishness is forgiven.

But please stop embarrassing yourself with this "Tomic - future "greatest player to ever play this game" sentence.

Tomic is 20 years old, and 52nd player in the world. By that time, Novak won masters title, and was top 10 player. Rafa Nadal won 6 masters, and 2 grand slams before his 20th birthday.

Tomic is nowhere NEAR that. If Tomic EVER becomes top 10, he will be very lucky.

And no, Djokovic - Tomic is not going to be "real parade". Novak is going to wipe the floor with Tomic. It's going to be like 6-1 6-0 for Novak, and that will be the end of it. The only chance Tomic has is if Novak feels jet lagged, because he plays in Abu Dabi week before.

But, since Serbia is playing, with Ana and Novak, yes I'm excited about tournament.

I like the Hopman Cup - it's a fun way to see in the new season and they've got some real "personality" players in the field this year, particularly in Djokovic, Ivanovic and Petkovic.
As for Tomic v Djokovic, I'm tipping it'll be close - with not much on the line Nole will be taking it pretty easy I expect.

Is there a reason Great Britain is not represented? Or the better question, what determines the 8 countries that fields pairs? Btw, Merry Boxing Day, eh? Boxing must be the loneliest sport in the world.

Very good line up this year. Looking forward to watching Petkovic in the mixed if Germany are 2-0 going into it.

This would be so much better if Rafa was playing in it. Rafa could have played with Sanchez Vicario and could have won this.

Yeah he would've won it playing with a 41 year old.

Just an indication on how fast this year has gone, I completely forgot this started today.

South Africa vs Spain at the moment and Anderson leads Verdasco 4-3 in the first.

I laughed when, before the match, Darren Cahill said that based on what he saw during the training in Vegas, he was confident that Verdasco will beat Kevin Anderson in straight sets. He completely underestimates Kevin there.
