Default Prince Precision Mono - is anyone still using it or hoarding them?

Finding a replacement for the Mono was the reason I joined the message board. Eight years later I still haven't found anything I like more (apart from my 1987 original Head Prestige Pro) and I'm pretty much ready to switch back to it as my primary racquet.

I was wondering if anyone else is still playing the Mono as their main racquet or have people been gathering them up as a novelty item rather than as something they use regularly? Those who have been collecting them, how available are they (at a reasonable price)?

I have one. It just kind of sits there now as a display with some other unusual rackets.

a new black experimental mono is pretty rare though. Sometimes it would pop up on the big auction site but most of the time, it has already been used.

My dad has one, nearly brand new, and a broken one.

Own 2 - play with the twin in the summer (like vintage cars, I like to take 'em out to the court for fun and to show off the unique frame).

Jimmy Connors? You might hit him up. I'm sure he's still got a couple.

To the mod/s who deleted a few of the posts that were in this thread - please provide a detailed, public explanation for why they were removed (none of which constituted either a 'for sale, trade or wanted' post).

My hitting partner still uses them and just gave him a couple I found in my closet. He sometimes goes into my bag and pulls out a stick or two to try.

Probably hits the best with the Technibre 325...which you may want to give a test drive.

Thanks mate but I don't want to look at racquet other than the Mono. I was just interested to know what had happened to the supply of them. Were people still using them or had they stockpiled a quantity when they were up for sale. If the latter, I might shoot them an email. Ultimately, the Mono wasn't a popular frame but it was produced in great quantity. A friend was working for Prince at the time and said that the Mono had a high production run but sales were absolutely abysmal. People wanted their wide-body power and just weren't interested in something like the Mono. Also, marketing was almost non-existent.

Wasn't the RipStick sort of a long Mono?

He back on the Champions Tour .... again!

He not going give you any of his Mono's unless you going to give him like $200K per Mono! Then he just will not play for the upcoming season! Courier will understand since him and Connors are owners of the "after tour" tournaments.
