Ok, maybe this will provide some motivation, I'll bring the balls and a cold Gatorade.

I can't wait to see what's next.

Have you tried Craigslist, or just going to some of the tennis facilities in Boca to see what's happening?

Seems tempting, I'm in Delray, but I don't fit the requirements, I'll pass it on.

HAHA, Did you get a job at Publix in the meantime until you find a "real" job...

So far this is what I have tried... Patch Reef Park has an advanced clinic on Saturday at 10:00 am unfortunately they do not enforce the ratings/skills therefore the drills are pretty erratic. The Racquet Center has a GREAT clinic on Sunday at 8:00 am, Coach Luiz Lobo is great and a supersolid player, he can make you puke in 45 minutes, very good workout, usually is just the two of us...I signed at both places "looking for a match" but haven't heard anyhting from it.

I drove to Delray a couple of weeks ago, what a great tennis facility...I went over there to watch the Clay Court Nationals ( 18's )...incredible, great level of play.

I also found a Yo-Yo, a bag of Cheetos, and a guitar pick in my tennis bag so I will include all of it in the "motivational" package.

It's funny how difficult it is to find hitting partners in certain areas of the country. I recently moved from the Bucks County,Pa area to the Bethany Beach Delaware area. Lots of tennis courts stretching from Salisbury,Md to Ocean City,Md and on up the coast and for the most part, all sit empty.

Back in Bucks County, there are 5 major tennis centers within a 10 mile radius and I can get a game going at one of them anytime I want.

Coastal Delaware or Maryland?

Fa get a bout it

Oh, if only my current competitive level was 4.0 - 4.5. But, it isn't. I will say that one of my frequent hitting partners was a 4.5 (he's 48 and is returning to tennis after about 3 years -- he estimates his current competitive ability at only between 3.5 and 4.0, but I think he's being modest).

I love Cheetos.

Good luck with your search. I do know a few people in the Coconut Creek area (which isn't far from you), and, come to think of it, I know a few people in the Boca area. If I get any info on 4.0 - 4.5 hitting partners for you, then I'll let you know.

I clicked on your home page link and got a "server not found" message.

What's with clinics? I've never done a clinic. Maybe I should try one.

By the way, just curious (although it does make a difference), how old are you?

How much do they charge for that? Should probably eat the Cheetos AFTER hitting.

I'll play with anyone, I don't really care provided they can sustain a rally and have a little bit of control.

Don't really know anything about homa page...I don't have one.

Take care and thanks in advance

A clinic it's a workout session run by a Pro. You have multiple drills and play situations where the Pro is continuously feeding you balls and getting involved. Usually they run it with 4 people...they can be very good if you get the right skill set. For example this last Sunday it was myself and the Pro....I bet in a matter of 45 minutes I hit more than 300 balls and played multiple live points. The Pro is a solid 5.0

I'm 47 with a 4.5 USTA computer rating.

Well, I have lots of control, and can sustain a rally, at least just hitting. But, because of my age, I certainly wouldn't be able to compete effectively against you in match play.

With my (formerly 4.5 level) neighborhood hitting partner, we rally for 20 to 30 minutes, where I will hit to his forehand, then backhand, etc. Then, because I'm currently unable to serve effectively due to tendinitis in my right hand, I receive serves from him for about 30 minutes. Then maybe some volleying practice. Well, you know, we vary it to make it interesting. Anyway, the point is that this guy is about your age, has very nice stroke mechanics, we hit hard, but I cannot (probably ever) hope to compete in match play against him.

If that intrigues you, then if you're going to be in the Fort Lauderdale area, then contact me and maybe we can hit.

Also, I'll furnish the new balls, the drinks, and the snacks. And if you think it wasn't worth your while, then at least you will leave with a brand new can of balls, a good sweat, and, let's see, some gas money and, OK, some Cheetos. And maybe I can put you in touch with some people and tennis resources in Fort Lauderdale that might induce you to drive a few miles south once in a while.

LOL, that was a bad joke from many years ago...didn't even remember the episode until you posted the url.

I'll keep you posted about my plans for Saturday, I'm waiting to hear from another guy I met here in Boca, if it doesnt happen maybe we can get together and work out a sweat.
