got another update...

played some dubs today with the BLX 6.1 95 team. This racquet is definitely in the running. I added 6 grams on the handle and 4 g's at 3/9 and it felt great. I would guess swingweight is around 325-330.
It was strung with full Xcel 16g. This racquet does everything well. Power is decent and comfort is high and it plays pretty friendly for a 95" hoop. I like the fact that its a great platform for lead and I can add as much as I want and if it feels too heavy, I can back it off a little.
I felt comfortable immediately with the 95 Team and it was very easy to adjust to.

Gonna play a league singles match with it tomorrow and see how things go.

Very interested in how you like the team. I've always been curious about that racket.

^it's a nice frame for sure. I played with stock, at 12.5oz and everything in between. That 95 head does force you to be up to par more often than not.

I was going to suggest a stick a buddy of mine who also hits a 1hdr swears by. The dunlop 500 tour. The head shape is quite similar to the rebel 98. Very elongated sweet spot, solid, yet comfortable and a nice and open pattern for imparting spin off that wing.

its a really nice frame that nobody ever talks about. It got great reviews from the TW crew also. I think the low weight (10.7) strung might scare some people off, but its quite easy to bring it up to 11-11.5 oz with 3-5 pts headlite balance. Its got a rather high swingweight for a low static weight racquet, so you don't NEED to add much at all. This racquet is surprisingly stable even stock. If the 12 oz BLX 6.1 is too heavy, but you would like something similar, the 95 Team should be on your demo list.

Thanks jack. I'm going to experiment with my pro opens by adding a little lead to the head and a lot to the grip to make it similar to a 6.1. If that doesn't work, idk what I am gonna do. I don't like them stock though. The 6.1 team definitely has platform racket written all over it!

Thick beam, balance, and instability. And sometimes just too much power.

its really not about switching to a 1hbh stroke. it's 2013 and new racquets are coming out and ohh the dilemma poor jackie must be feeling....so many racquets sooo little time....wait there's more racquets coming 1/2 way through 2013 then the fall releases---in your best captain kirk voice say I must resist the vulcan mind trappppppp --and as doc holiday said on his death bed "this is funny".

So sorry little vantagirl. You just can't stand it that I'm having so much fun play testing all these rackets so u got to try to come in here and rain on my parade with your immature nonsense. Why don't you go find another thread when you can add something pertinent or useful to the conversation? Go ahead and give it a try, you can do it. I know you can. You'll see...you'll feel so much better about yourself. Or perhaps you just prefer being a little troll? Your choice!

You can fix all those complaints except for the thick beam part. Balance and stability are pretty easy fixes with lead tape. I think the BLX team would be a good choice for you to add weight to it as you see fit. The beam is not too thickland you can pretty much customize it to your liking. Just something to think about.

Ok Jackie--I would venture a guess your elbow hurts because of your constant switching....having fun yet?

got another update....

the BLX team didn't do so good in singles today. Lost 1st set 6-2. Switched to the 200G and won 2nd set 6-3 and stayed with it and lost the last set in a tiebreak. That's twice now that I switched to the 200g and immediately started playing better. I'm trying to just keep an open mind and see what the on court results are with these 3 racquets. I eliminated the Rebel98 and am down to the 6.1 95 Team, 200G and Pro One.

Yeah we shall see. I'm gonna do some different setups with the opens as well as try full poly in them for the first time. I'm thinking it may help a lot.

I have hit with a 6.0 classic 95 before and really liked it a lot, and I figure the 6.1 isn't far off from it. I also liked the prestige mp which has similar characteristics. So I am ultimately going to try customizing the opens as soon as I get my hands on some lead tape.

I'm wondering if you didn't play as well in singles because of less power from the team... I imagine it would be extremely control oriented.

not sure. It felt a little light today. I am going to add a little more weight and seeing that helps. The team is strung with a multi so its got pretty good pop.
But yes, it is control oriented.

Whatever you can get I suppose. I believe you and I are very similar in ability and it would be interesting to see how you hit with these. I am also on the fence with which bh I should keep using...one handers are fun
