Default The 5th Annual TT Shoe and Apparel Awards

Yup, it's that time of year again (aka: when I get bored and copy and paste my now thread from previous years), the TT Shoe and Apparel Awards!
I open the voting to you, the merry/disgruntled, experts of Talk Tennis to suggest your winner for each category, and maybe an honourable mention for good measure.
The categories (as ever) are:

-Best Overall Company Designs of the year: 'The David Ferrer Award for solid consistency'

-Shoe of the Year: 'Dedicated to the poor soles lost this year on court'

-Apparel of the Year: The 'Because what would we talk about if everyone wore plain white t-shirts?' Award

-Shoe Colourway of the year: The 'I've spent hours on Nikeid and MiAddidas choosing shoe laces, time to reevaluate my life' Award

-Worst Apparel of the year: The "MY EYES, MY EYES' Award for crimes against fashion and potentially humanity

-Worst Shoe of the year: The 'Well they were cheap/looked good/my mum got me them/I was drunk' Award for complete crappness in Shoes

-Biggest surprise of the year: The 'Murray' Award [ducks behind cover from inevitable abuse]

-Biggest disappointment of the year, in proud association, for yet another year, with every 'next big thing' player

-Most anticipated for '13, sponsored by the Rafa Comeback tour

To get the ball rolling, my educated stab at proceedings:

-Best Overall Company Designs of the year: 'The David Ferrer Award for solid consistency'
Nike, particularly with Federer's stuff, have been pretty solid this year - nothing ground breaking, but no shockers

-Shoe of the Year: 'Dedicated to the poor soles lost this year on court'
Vapor 9's, nice to have the Vapors back on form after the lunar wilderness years

-Apparel of the Year: The 'Because what would we talk about if everyone wore plain white t-shirts?' Award
The Purple RF Masters Polo/ Team GB Olympic top

-Shoe Colourway of the year: The 'I've spent hours on Nikeid and MiAddidas choosing shoe laces, time to reevaluate my life' Award
FO Vapors

-Worst Apparel of the year: The "MY EYES, MY EYES' Award for crimes against fashion and potentially humanity
Murray's Masters top (odds on to win this award next year aswell...)

-Worst Shoe of the year: The 'Well they were cheap/looked good/my mum got me them/I was drunk' Award for complete crappness in Shoes
2K11. Lasted weeks, refund took 11 months. Traumatic

-Biggest surprise of the year: The 'Murray' Award [ducks behind cover from inevitable abuse]
Uniglo actually churning out some consistently inoffensive outfits

-Biggest disappointment of the year, in proud association, for yet another year, with every 'next big thing' player
Hmm, will get back to you

-Most anticipated for '13, sponsored by the Rafa Comeback tour
More Vapors, maybe the id one's coming good.

Some good stuff there.

Hated the FO Vapor's. Thought both USO one's were best.

+1 on the Uniqlo stuff looking nice. Was a relief not to see dragons on his shirt.

Not a fan of any of the Murray Adidas gear, wish he'd go back to Fred Perry.

Best overall designs: Nike, slightly better than Adidas to me

Shoes of the year:

Apparel of the year: (got to pick the ST due to its "historical value", I like the white top as well)

Honorable mention:

Worst apparel of the year: (could have done much better with yellow)

Biggest surprise: Djokovic's Serbia top

Biggest disappointment: Djok's apparel progress
Most anticipated: its comeback

Are you all blind? Murray's Masters top isn't offensive to the eyes in the slightest. I think it's the fitted cut that has annoyed a lot of people because they're so fat that when they put it on, their abs don't show through the shirt like Murray... and me

Saying that Federer's Masters polo wins the outfit of the year followed by the FO Vapors for shoe of the year.

Was pleasantly surprised with the understated style of Uniqlo's range.

Nadal's range was the dullest out of all the players this year. The salmon pink MC top made Rafa look like a large piece of smoked fish holding a Babolat.

1. Most people who didnt like Murray's top/ commenting here havent tried it on yet, i.e wont care about fit.
2. I like skinny tops and dont like it.
3. Rafa's top is orange.

Loved the Fo vapors but the NYC special edition color way and Madrid v9 color way were the best

Here are mine:

-Shoe of the Year: Vapor 9s after the fiasco with 7s and 8s, welcome back Nike, don't screw this up when the Vapor 10s comes out though otherwise time to stock up while you can. I know when the Vapor 6s were gone, I left Nike until the 9s came back. Vapor 9s are the GSOAT.

-Apparel of the Year:
Both the blue and purple RF Masters Polos

-Shoe Colourway of the year:
Purple Masters Vapors

-Best Overall Company Designs of the year: NIKE

-Shoe of the Year:

IMO, best combination of durability and comfort THIS YEAR.

-Apparel of the Year:

Huge fan of the whole peach/orange look. this color just pops.

-Shoe Colourway of the year:

Not a fan of purple, but Nike made this work. The most comfortable shoe of the year, with a great look. I would buy a pair if I could find a pair.lol

-Most anticipated for '13

After trying this shoe on, it is literally a must have for me. It's like they took all the positives of the v9 and CB4.3 and put them into one shoe. Really good move by nike!
