Default Laver v. Connors 1976

EDIT: Sorry. Typo... this was from 1975.

Another unreal clip from a match between a 24 year old Connors and 36 year old Laver. Laver's speed, movement, reflexes, and all-court abilities are just incredible.

Hello - what you have posted is not a 1976 but the February 1975 clip that has been posted many times here. Do you have a 1976 clip - I'd be excited to see it!

(BTW - the clip you have shared indeed shows the greatness of Laver. Imagine what he would have been like just 8 years before at his absolute peak in 1967!

Yeah, I edited and stated the correction. I had a typo.

I posted a 1976 video in another thread. That probably has been posted here before, too. But still great nonetheless. Against 20 year old Borg... unreal.

" get me Laver"
Connors had fully dominated the 74 season except WCT where big guys played and he did not
Of course he did not play Newcombe, WCT champion and the man that ousted him a year befire at the US Open ( Newcombe also won the title)
But, the cocky and pride young man that had won the 1974 Wimbledon and Forest Hills events knew he could never feel to be worlds best till he defeated the Rocket
" get me Laver"

Even as late as 1975, to be considered the best--you had to best Laver.

this type of tennis looks more exciting than todays tennis. i think its not only just the style of play the old racquets too, and you could see more of their personality in their tennis games

Laver, at 37, was still good enough to give Borg a big scarce at the 75 WCT Finals.
