Cool

grats to Caro for advancing to the second round. didnt see the whole thing, but the announer was saying it was very hot, speaking of which, Caro was looking slimmer this season and showing off her new stella mccartny to wardrobe malfunction advantage ..... her next opponent is croatian Donna Vekic!

good call! Pavlyuchenkova lost in three tuff sets in the first round to an opponent i've never heard of before, a ukranian named Lesia Tsurenko.

It's only day three and already six of the 32 seeds are gone bye-bye in the first round

What a boss
OMG she is ridiculously awesome.

I guess having literally faced down life-threatening injuries, it changes your perspective on things a little bit. And I know she really wants this.

A bit of a cakewalk for Woz until she potentially gets to Kuzy. Disappointing from Pavly, could have made a nice run. Another russian headcase!

Madison Keys completely spanked Paszek in the first set of their match. She has HUGE groundstrokes and a good serve....I personally think she has a lot more potential than Sloane Stephens. I like this girl.

She is playing well but for a young girl I hope she stops growing, her athletic ability may be a problem.

While it's true she may not be as athletic as someone like Stephens I think she makes up for it with her superior groundstrokes and that great serve. Lets not forget lack of athleticism didn't stop players like Davenport from achieving success. Do I think she is a world beater and future goat? Probably not. But from what I've seen of her so far I think she definitely has top 10 potential.

All the commentators are high on Madison "Avenue" Keys (as Brad Gibert calls her). Watching her now I definitely see the potential. Great serve, willing to move forward, natural power.

Agree as well but when I saw her play before while she was loosing, her mental was not that strong... That's the only flaw I see though

Keys looks like she knows she can do it, unlike sloane and Mchale when they started out.

I say keys>Mchale>sloane> etc

Good win

Tiny Cibulkova got booted by a Russian whose name I have trouble pronouncing.

These Czech and Slovakian girls are the embodiment of brainless ball bashing. Kvitova, Safarova, Hantuchova, Cibulkova, Zahlavova-Strycova, Gajdosova, Vaidisova, Hradecka, Hlavackova.... no real difference in their play.

Any picks on Stosur-Zheng?

Zheng did make it to the SF here in 2010. Stosur hasn't convinced me she can overcome her fear of playing in her country.

I love Stosur. Cannot be unbiased when talking about her.

Stosur's backhand is more of a mess than Wozniacki's forehand. Zheng should just keep hitting it there.

Zheng holds to love. 3-3.
