Wilson non glossy paint job = fake?

Wilson tennis fan,

I have a curious question. I have two Wilson frames of the same model. However, one of the paint job is non glossy vs. the other one. To me, the glossy paint job tells me it's authentic and the non glossy one is a fake. Does everyone agree? I don't think Wilson manufactures both a glossy and a non glossy stick of the same model.

I think some of the pro stocks aren't glossy, not sure on the fakes.

Some of the BLX 90's I've seen and had weren't as glossy as others, but they were all real. Come to think of it, even my new PS90's aren't glossy all over... just the red is, but I think the white has more of a slight satin or flat look to it. I actually prefer a non-glossy look myself.

Nope. Sometimes the glossy paint chips off too easily, and Wilson decided to change it to matte to address customer complaints.

I referring to BLX Blade Tour. I find it odd that one is glossy and the other is non glossy.

The gold and black color are like matte finish. The glossy you can see the "rainbow" colors more stronger vs the matte finish. I remove the buttcap and looks professional. Either I have a very good fake or it's real. I just find it hard to believe that there's two manufacture of the paint job for the BLX Blade Tour.

That's not glossy. Glossy is the Blade 98. You have two different variants of matte. They don't make fakes of the Blade Tour (it just doesn't sell well enough), but they do fake the Blade 98.

Move on. They're both real.

I'm not too sure. When I string the racquet, the grommet comes loose on the bottom side. I can't push it back in. If it's genuine, I wouldn't have this issue with the grommet. I have an authentic one and my friend has two of them and the paint job matches mine with the exception for the one in question. Why is that? Also, I contacted Wilson and they could not confirm whether it's counterfeit or authentic. What does that tell you?

Have you ever tried taking off the grommets on an authentic racket? Once you take it off, you have to really force it back in. That's because the string knots expand/distort the holes. This happens in ALL tennis rackets.

It's not their job to verify authenticity. When you buy auction, you get auction uncertainty. No one's going to make it their business to save you cash when you don't do business with them. Try taking a Wal-mart product to Target and ask for customer service. Have a little sense, man.

I have a gold/black Blade Tour that's a bit more glossy/shiny than the others. It came to me directly from Wilson (warranty reasons).

This is all I will say on this matter. Argue if you wish. You paid auction prices, you don't get the liberty of peace of mind. Don't buy auction if you can't tell real from fakes.
