He also had great positioning and knew the patterns of his opponents as well, if not better, than anyone on tour.

What I liked most about Mats was how he was one of the first guys to use a one-handed slice backhand, as well as a two-hander topspin. Pretty smart, to give his opponent two different kinds of backhand returns, and change the pace alittle.
So, years ago, I learned both, and now I'm a pretty solid 4.5 player.

Yeah both had very similar games. I would say Rafter had the better serve, Cash slightly better volleys (had more sting), while Rafter had better groundies.

Wilander played some really great matches in 1988....Wilander-Cash AO, Wilander-Agassi FO, Wilander-Leconte FO, Wilander-Lendl UO, Wilander-Connors Key Biscayne.

He played perfect agains Leconte in the Final of french open. But hardest match for him was maybe against Agassi in the SF of French Open.

He served alot better did alot more aces then before and his forehand was better and he had a perfect sliced backhand

Love Wilander. He was so fit along with being an expert on tactics. Could be the GOAT of strategy. He seemed just as fit as Lendl.
