Default Followthough: Across the shoulder or below the waist?

I hear coaches discuss about the ww, and although it's normally promoted as following though below the waist. I follow though across the shoulder going up and though the ball as I find it more heavy & penetrating (like fed, but I use a full W grip) . What I wanna know is...

- is this the correct technique or should I follow though lower?
- which is more effective & why?
- which ever one is more appropriate, what should I do to improve it?

Thanks

Follow through is a result of how you swing. If you are focused on the follow through, your swing will be all arm.

Basically when I need to hit harder, my follow through naturally does a window wiper. When I hit with less power, I usually finish across the shoulder.
