Which ProKennex Racquet do you prefer? Why?
I have been playing great with the Ki 5 and of course I suffer from racquetholism so I can't just be content until I have tried more. For those of you that have used ProKennex, which do you prefer and why?

The Q5 is coming soon, so you might wait for it. I love the Ki5 PSE but is a bit too heavy. If you can handle that, then you are fine.

Hmm...as of right now it's 2 votes for Ki 5x and 1 for QTour. I'm surprised the 7G isn't lighting up the scoreboard! Maybe it's just a matter of time before they all log in. LOL

I've been looking at the Q5 also, but some things about it have me puzzled, like the increased stiffness and beam width, which is the opposite of how I would go.

I'm also curious as to why PK heralded the Kinetic technology as a breakthrough, but in the Q series they only have 4 kinetic chambers. The older Kinetic models have several kinetic chambers around the head and inside the handle. It makes me wonder... Is it because having only 4 works better or is it a cost savings decision?

the original 90 Black Ace.. it's a great player racket.. easy on the arm with lots of plow thru behind it.. strung it with vsgut main and alu power cross.. it plays better than any today wilson line up 6.1 tour 90..

my favorite is the redondo mid.
I have had in the past a copper plus 90, which was amazing.
exact same frame as a ktour90, pretty much the same plow plaw pliuw, but a super soft feel, mine broke one time that i let it fall from my hand out of a first serve...

also have a copper ace just for show, its so low powered its ridiculous, might as well play with a table tennis racquet

Looks like the top contenders so far are the QTour and 7G. Not much of a surprise.

A bigger surprise is how many write-in votes we have for older racquets. Reminds me of one of my favorite older racquets from the past...the Silver Ace. At the time, that was my favorite racquet. It was a graphite/fiberglass composite, similar to the original Black Ace but softer, more comfortable, and it was under $100. I was so upset when my last one broke and I couldn't get a replacement for it!

Seems like everytime they do an update to those heritage frames they make the racquet worse. I did not like the 2012 version of the Black Ace. It seems to have lost alot with the addition of the carbon fibre bands. Hope the newer versions are back to the old 100 percent graphite formula with maybe a snazzier paint job.

This is funny. TW has removed the description of the new BA from PK page. As far as I can remember the specs mentioned before removal, it seems to be 328g strung, 316 SW, 6pts HL, 60 stiff, SpiralTech fibers.

The specs look promising for easy mods. Just slap in leather grip plus overgrip and the weight would be around 340g and 8-10 pts HL. The SW may increase a bit to about 320-ish or a bit less. This would seem like a stiffer, popier Redondo.

Anirut, did you have a chance to play with the lower swing weight BA93 with spiral tech carbon? Can you compare it with the previous one?

Said this a lot already, but it is hard to beat the 7/5Gs. TW's review is spot on. I can't point to one area it is best at because it is great at everything. Have yet to find a racquet I like better.

For a more vintage selection, I still carry my Silver Ace ceramic 110 from high school to the courts. Phenomenal feeling racquet on ground strokes. 100% graphite with a foam filled core and low RA. At over 12 oz, though, it gets heavy when RHS is paramount (like the serve).
