Yup. Don't believe in the "graphene" idea, but there is more mass in the head to give some additional pop.

Not sure about that. if Novak really was knocking down fences with the new grapheme racket then something must be up. and Novak did say in press conference that he really did switch to these.

K. If I was sponsored by Head, I'd say I was playing with their new frames too... but, if I'm a top 5 player in the world I'm not switching my frame every year or two.

exact same thing happened to me stringing two last night. got to the last cross and noticed the damn bumper guard was out of track. i had to hold it in place and tension. it still looks askew, poor design and weak construction imo

I received a pre-strung racket from TW and found out that you need to string the last few holes differently so that it overlaps the tab and will obviously keep the tab down.

How to:
After tensioning the 6th main, skip a hole and string and tension the 8th main, then string and tension the 7th main, then string and tension the 9th main.

I'm not sure if this is how Head intended for this racket to be strung, but it works at keeping the grommet in place. I wish Head would just provide either a one piece grommet and eliminate the tab.

I haven't had any problems with mine, but did ask Head for their stringing instruction which haven't been put up on the web yet. They do acknowledge that the grommet may lift so here is their advice for the mains:

"Start at the top with the center holes L34 + R34. For the left and the right side of the main strings clamp 3,25m (10,75ft) each at hole L34 + R34 respectively. Tighten 2 main strings left, two main strings right and so on. Tie off at holes L7 + R7. For best results, while tensioning the outer main strings, ensure that the grommet barrels are not lifted out of position. If barrels lift, then please push these back into position before continuing."

Try seating the grommet with a blunt awl before putting the string through, I've done over 50 new racquets (G Speeds, G Instincts etc) and that has not been an issue.

Good luck.

I got dr325i's racket and simply cut that little plastic piece off, took whole 20 seconds - don't know what the big deal is.

It does not bother me that it is sticking out, I am ****ed because it is a poor design and barely protecting strings inside the hoop. That is why TW sent me a new set of strings - if these break early due to this flaw.
Apparently, they do not have the replacement grommets available, yet.
Can any one confirm that the Ig speed 18x20 will fit in the graphene speed pro? If they do, that would be your best option since the Ig speed grommets have a gap in the middle.

This new stick would be # 1 on my demo list, but the issue you write about is enough to take my interest out.

It's not an issue, cut the little plastic piece off if it pops up and you are done

It isn't a problem on mine (yet) and I certainly wouldn't deny yourself the chance to demo it just because of a possible bumper problem. The frame isn't perfect but it does so many things very well that I'd suggest you rule it out for other reasons and have no regrets.

That happened cause you didn't push the grommet in and hold it down while stringing.

I own another tennis shop. As others have said, you have to use a different weave to cover the gaps in the grommet strip. At both the head and the tail (4 gaps).

I think Head did screw up. Grommet strips are too thin and do not have enough overlap.

I've done over 50 of these racquets since release and didn't have one problem (in fact I had to fix several stringers mistakes) cause I took the time to hold down the bumper guard down and also make sure they were fully pushed in, in the first place. No need to do anything special just do your regular two piece and string it like your layering it so you don't get any weird cross overs later.

The only thing I can say is that if you don't string it perfect the first time it leaves a string impression and makes it difficult for the next stringer or stringing cause the grommet holes has an imprint of the string and the string will follow that imprint.
