Hanfmann takes the 1st set at #4 singles 6-4. He started out real slow with a slew of unforced errors. Once he got calmed down he started dictating pace pretty well.

i doubt UVA needs any of the 4-6 matches, but a cushion would be nice if one of the shanes can take a first set in the next few min

who mentioned Texas? The current Texas squad sucks, I know that. Pushers like crazy there. Sitaram used to be creative and bright but college tennis has grinded him down.

Eric Johnson just took the 1st set 7-5 at #6 singles. Broke J. Shane at love to do it.

UVA would be better off without jshane in singles - they have great players that don't go on wild streaks of unforced errors and seem to crumble in every big moment - maybe the kid is very likeable and works hard - but some don't have the ice in their veins

that's what i would do if i was boland - or the senior JU
obviously i'm not an accomplished coach like boland, and i understand the coaching principle of sticking with guys through tough times, but at some point it's time to cut your losses for the good of the group |

USC takes the tb
looks like it's 1-3 for UVA vs 4-6 for USC, who will hang on better |

I've been watching at 3. Quiroz is relying on some gutsy serves to hold, but Frank is winning the long rallys. I get the feeling that Quiroz will have a game where his serve goes cold, and Frank will run from there. Hope that i'm wrong. I'd hate to see this one end quickly.

Another indoor title is great, but I'm betting the NCAA title is what UVA fans really want.
The program has achieved everything you could ask of a tennis program, except the NCAA team title. So, this is all just a precursor to May's will-they-or-won't-they drama. I live in Springfield, Illinois, 70 minutes from Champaign, and I'm really looking forward to seeing the NCAA tournament live this year. |

Johnson put a USC point on the board, taking care of Shane pretty routinely.
Lucky you get to go live bluetrain4, I am hoping for good video quality like this. |
