Fischer Vacuum Pro 90 MS

I'm expecting delivery of a pair really soon... In the event I need new grommets, would the new Pacific ones that TW sells fit?

Anyone with hitting experience of these frames please share... Esp if you can compare with the PC600.
Specs are pretty similar, except for string pattern and recommended tension. Heard this Fischer frame is also very string and tension sensitive... And could be unforgiving.
What attracted me to give it a try is the low flex

Where did you get the Fischers? New old stock or used? I only play tested the Pacific version and was very disappointed. The frame felt very polar, with weight at the top of the hoop and the handle. It also felt fairly dead. I hope the Fischers play better.

Yes, the Pacific grommets should be a direct fit to the older Fischers.

Those Fischers are really unique. The Pacific frames have a different layup; it should be expected that their feel would be different too. And yes, Fischer's recommended tension range is very narrow on the midsize Vacuum Pro.

I've played both Head PC600 and Vacuum Pro 90; to me, the Fischer has better ball feel, is more innately powerful, feels a bit "livelier," and can more easily impart spin (by virtue of its less dense pattern). I like the Fischer better, and still keep a few of them around to use. The only downside of the Fischer Vacuum Pro (90 or 98 ) that I can think of is that the grommet doesn't really serve as a decent bumper guard; these frames show court rash terribly and begin to chip and wear into graphite shockingly quickly; extra head protection tape is advised.

I still think it is a good idea to stock up on bumper/grommet sets for this particular racquet. Only TW sells it's analog and it is pretty much a niche racquet -- who knows how long replacement sets will be around? I am even building a stash for Pro No 1 98 (X-Force) frames, even though this is one of the most venerable racquets in the current lineup and most likely to survive without changes.

For sure the Pacific grommets will fit. I have them installed on my two Vac Pro 90's.

yeah I would probably be ordering at least a couple of grommet sets the next time I find something to buy on TW. Just ordered some strings prior to getting the frames

@ retrowagen, what tension did you string your Fischers if you can remember? I got a couple of gut and poly arriving initially for my PCs but what the heck hee hee
I usually got my PCs strung at gut mains @55 / poly crosses @ 53, with the Fischer I am thinking of gut mains @ 52 / poly crosses @ 48. Sounds right?

On the money.

I string mine with full bed of multi, at 50. I don't like poly. Full gut at 50 +- 2 pounds would be heavenly.

Got the frames last night! Noticed they are more ecliptical than my Prestiges.
And another interesting thing I noticed was, I got one frame where 'mid size' and 'sic.ceramics.graphite' is printed in the hoop at the 12 o'clock position where another they are printed at the 1 o'clock
They came with strings so think I'm gonna hit a few sessions with those first before restringing
