Overall H2H is currently still 10-9 to Murray but Fed is, of course, 3-0 in their Slam meetings.
Fed briefly levelled it after Wimbledon at 8-8 first time they had been level since after us open final in 2008 at 2-2 (off top of my head haha I am a geek)

Federer is definitely beatable right now. It really depends on which Murray shows up mentally.

I will have a shot in the darkness - Fed in 4/5 sets.
This match with Tsonga must give him some confidence. Fed has to serve extremely well. Difficult match but Fed can surely win.

I am glad roger wasn't out there too long, still i would have preferred him to play in the day.

What's the head to head, is it even? Roger has never been ahead except in the first meeting so i pick Murray to go ahead again. prediction - fed serves first and gets broken right away. Murray wins the set fed wins set 2 but Murray wins in 4.
I'm sorry Towser but based on form, Chardy could and should of been trouble for Murray. Sadly for us, like Tsonga, he's French and they just can't do anything right. Chardy was pathetic from the get go and Tsonga lost the plot when in control (Fed got away with it).

Anyway, to this match. Anyone can win this but I'm gonna go for Fed because I don't like Andrew Murray.

oh right well in that case i give fed a chance to even it up. i still think Murray will get his first slam win over fed though.

It would be surprising if either of these players could beat Djokovic in the final anyway. Now that Djokovic had his major test and survived it I dont see anyone or anything stopping him here.

I really don't know... I voted for Andy in 5, but that's not necessarily what I think will happen.

I hope for Andy in whichever way he likes. Hopefully nothing too grueling though, since this isn't the final.

Yeah but there was zero chance chardy would actually play well enough to trouble Murray on the day. Murray is a step up for him and i just couldn't see it being a tough match. Tsonga has given Murray tough 4 setters in recent time and he's tested fed and beaten him too the last few years.

Basically Tsonga should've beaten Djokovic at RG 2012 with those 4 match points and should've (or could've) beaten Federer here today at AO.
Tsonga is probably the best player in the world if you put some real self belief in him.

Chardy could of least made him work for the match lol. About Tsonga, true, just he hasn't shown any proof of form that he did today throughout this tournament at all.

Even with his recent record with Fed, was surprised tbh.

I don't think Murray will win in less than 5. I could see Fed pulling it out in 3 or 4, but if it goes to 5 advantage Murray. Going with that, Murray in 5.

he did beat fed at Wimbledon in 2011.

Tsonga is the only guy to have beaten fed, Nadal, Djokovic and Murray at slams. the guy could do so much more than he has.

Agreed. All that smiling and not giving a f^ck is pathetic.

If only he had the attitude of Djokovic.

Did you see the match F!? Murray would have thumped most players today.
There was nothing, as Chardy admitted, he could have done about it.

I hear lots of people complain about Djokovic not being tested by players but it's the same thing going on with him.
He's too good.

You mean when he gifted the first set and continued to make dumb errors?

Yes... I did see the match.

Chardy's comments after the match:

"I played a good match, but he was too good for me," said Chardy. "I thought I tried many things, but there was no chance for me. He was too good. I played a good tournament, so I'm still happy. But it's tough to lose with no solution."

He loses all credibility after that first sentence.

Murray kept going to his BH, which was exposed as being a real weakness, which is why he kept making errors. It's a known fact that his FH is his best shot and best to be avoided. It's simply not possible for him to make it a better shot in such a short amount of time. Contrary to DelPo, Murray obviously had a game plan and executed it.

Pitiful post!

I take offense to fed's name being in lowercase when the others are not. How could you possibly do that to the goat? I think if fed saw this fed would be ashamed. Remind you of anyone?
