Default Andy Murray Pro Stock Numbers???

I know that his racquet is a PT57A 16x19, but is there a specific code for his racket? I was thinking of trying to pick up one or two because I love the PT630, but I always wished they had made a 16x19 pattern. Anyway, just looking for a code or if anyone know how to tell if it's a genuine andy murray stick, that would be great as well. Also, what is the going price for a pro stock Andy Murray frame?

Thanks,

DH

Well the mold and the 16x19 pattern is a good indicator, but you'd need to take the pallet off to check if the pt code is not in the throat. Given the rarity, they would be big bucks. Wouldn't surprise me if they were to sell for at least $600 or more

Forgot actually, his frames have custom grips molded onto the frame. No pallets

I've only ever seen one Andy Murray frame for sale for around $800. It is indeed a very rare frame. You might want to try a tgk231.3 - those should be a little easier to get.

The TGK (pro stock) version of the Prestige Pro is going to the the closest you can get to Murray's racket, unless you find Murray rackets to buy. The Prestige Pro version was the TGK 238.5, the newer paint job is labeled the TGT 293.1 (I believe.) Both are 16x19 string patterns, like Murrays. The mold has slight differences (like how far down the grommet channel extends), but the overall molds are basically the same, with main differences being the materials and construction method (layup) used for Murray's racket.

I have both the retail and TGK (pro stock) versions and I am selling the retail version because I just can't get it close to play the same as the pro stock (even after matching weight, balance, swingweight).

But without finding a Murray PT57a 16x19 (I don't know of any other pro using this drill pattern in the PT57a), the TGK 238.5 is absolutely the closest you will get (basically same mold, same string pattern), in my opinion.

To answer your original question, I believe it would be very difficult to find out Murray's "Pro Stock Numbers", since it's so rare to see his rackets for sale. But as I said, I don't believe any other pro is using the PT57a with 16x19 pattern. So if you found a confirmed pt57a that was 16x19, with a Radical paint job; I'd be pretty confident that it's Murray's racket.

Yes. No code that is visible, though I am sure that Head does have the code somewhere.

I just checked the ad for Murray's frame from last summer and the ad said that his name and the model are on the throat (embedded, not on a sticker).

Vidda indicated that one of the tgk231s had flex similar to the PT57A so the overall feel might be closest there.

Yeah, this would be a better bet than a 238.5. But the OP should just go for an 18x20 pt57a

ART is correct, it does look like the PT57A. The angle is a little weird, however, if you look closely at the CAPs endings, the channel looks like the 57A. Great find!

Haas is now using an 18x20 racket.

Are you saying that I am correct ???
...

More, that racket was a request from Haas to Head, and was a little hard for him to get it... Head is not giving this "special PT57a" to everyone... hard to tell why, but it's some kind of exclusive prodution just only for Murray.

Last week in German ATP, "some guy" have asked more info about this racket to someone close to Haas, but no info was given free... just some words: "it's a special racket only made for him and the Scotish..."

But this one as a lot of lead under the grommets from 3 to 9(last time "some guy checked" ), and I guess silicone inside the handle.
