Default Old string/best string for APDC?

I have some 4 year old string samples I got. Would they still be good to string and play with?

And what would be the best for APDC?

Wilson hollow core
Wilson hollow core pro
Wilson nxt control
Luxilon Adrenaline

The tension you choose will make a big difference. String the Lux at the lowest tension; the NXT at or near the highest and the Hollow Core around midpoint.

Given this information, I will most likely choose NXT. I think that the higher tension would give more spin potential and cause less balls to fly long, which is what happens now because of the low tension currently.

I have some Sports Pal 15g nylon that would work well too. It has texture, and thick, textured strings were shown in one study to produce as much spin as thin textured strings. Also, thicker is better at quelling vibration. Leoina 66 would work nicely too. Biggest advantage of all---they're cheap, cheap, cheap!

The polyester is designed for spin though, you would get the spin you needed when its strung at a little bit lower tension. The strings will shift and reset giving the spin you need.
