Exclamation Anyone ever cut open a Volkl C10 or similar?

I know very few people would ever saw open a racquet handle, but I would if I ever cracked a frame just to get a good look inside one before it hits the trash.

Has anyone ever opened up a Volkl C-10 or similar with a yellow Twin Absorber damp thing under the butt cap? I'm curious if that yellow stuff is rubber and if that rubber is only for show. Perhaps 1/2" long rather than 4" long covering most of where the dominant hand is.

Default volkl handles

Hello, I have taken many volkl handles completely to the hairpin area, the
yellow plastic pieces you see are just spacer blocks where the two hairpin
tubes come together ,then a graphite material is used to form the subhandle
to which the pallet is attached. I make a prostock type set up by adding silicon
or tungsten or lead the the hairpin or the subhandle areas. You do not want to do this unless you have some custom frame experience .

HitMan--what's the easiest way to get down to the hairpin. I just removed the molded handle from an old PK Ceramic Destiny, and it was messy and time-consuming. Thanks.

I usually use a rotary tool accessory set with different cutting bits and or discs,
you need to take a mold or shape matching gauge to replace what you remove
back to the original shape again ,or make a custom foam handle to your specs. Most Volkls have a solid lead weight hot glued between the hairpin to
counter weight the frames , I like the silicon between the hairpins and inside
the tubes ,a little tungsten power if needed !!
